Instead we are rescheduling to August, reducing the number of races, skipping the big awards party and instituting new COVID-19 safety procedures. Registration for Single Races will re-open once we are confident our community-spirited Coveathlon Summer Race will be COVID-19 safe and have info about gatherings.

The swim was like swimming a lake as this was at Newport Dunes, a man-made beach off of Newport’s back bay. Very well marked and easy to navigate. The run was 3-miles, not exactly a 5k but a great scenic course with a little hill climb at the midway point making it a bit more challenging. This time of year the water and air temps are perfect for racing, also, as this was in the evening at 6 pm. The race is also part of a series of 5 races all on Thursday nights/mid-week, which was unique for me, but actually a great departure. You could easily consider useing the race as a training session.
