So this is my least motivating course because it’s where I do my virtuals, so between those and scheduled in person races, I hit it up about a dozen times a year at least. The weather this day was unseasonably cold, with windchill getting down to negative 20F, so the course was adjusted to a double out and back instead of the longer more enjoyable course. I’m saying that, but I’m going to consider it a plus and a +1 to production for that decision. It made the suck of the cold more tolerable knowing that we were “almost home” at any given moment, and it kept the volunteers needed to a minimum, and it really sucked out there for people standing still. Good looking out, Bodies Race Company. Same medal and T as the say before, being as how it was the same themed race in a different location. When other local races cancelled, good on Bodies for adapting and modifying the course so we could still do it live. We did it slower than we ever have. I had on 5 pants, 6 tops and a blanket over my body armor, balaclava and toboggin over top. It was cold. It was well earned when we got that medal at the end, as most of the 10k people had downgraded to the 5k due to the weather. Lots of packaged snacks at the end to refuel, and slow as we were, as is always with Bodies, the party was still pumping when we dragged ourselves through the arches. Absolute “do again” of a race.
