A friend recommended this as my first 50K when I started looking for one I think back in December. I didn’t want to wait another year and April-September is just too hot here in the Valley. This was a beautiful course, with a lot of water crossings due to the amount of rain we got, which worried me at first but I seemed to not mind it as much as I thought. Aravaipa’s races are amazing and this was no exception!

There are some great views in this race, recent storms put lots of water in the creeks, several creek crossing. Nice running area. Good aid stations, mostly OK marked trails but needed more markers out, at one fork in the trail, no markings, that caused a delay. Award pick up is still up in the air, or lacking information. This organization gives out very cheap glasses or wine glasses, so cheap they break easily. If they are going to do that, spend some money and get good ones we can use. I have spoke up on this but no one wants to hear that.
