The Churchill Half Marathon was the perfect unexpected end to my racing season. It is a historic, well-organized November run with small-town charm and big heart. After being bussed from the finish area to Perrysburg High School, runners enjoyed a warm indoor start complete with a marching band before heading out on a scenic point-to-point course through neighborhoods, river paths, and Metroparks. The chilly weather added some grit, and the uphill finish required every ounce of encouragement, but the strong community support and meaningful fundraising for Food Gatherers made every mile worthwhile. The post-race celebration includes homemade chili, cookies, two beers, live music, and a heated tent. This is definitely a race worth jumping into

Churchill’s has been wonderfully organized both years that I’ve run it! It’s a smaller race, but they have always had plenty of support! Always plenty of water stops, fuel stations and restrooms. It’s a point to point race and the shuttles help get you where you need to be. The after party has had a rocking band, warm chili, and some local brews – what more can you ask for?!
The course runs flat through some neighborhoods before running rolling hills along both sides of the river, but unfortunately you can’t see the river much other than when you cross over the bridge. Don’t let the big hill at mile 12 surprise or scare you! It’s an added challenge to make sure you hit your goal time!

Great support and a great Fall race. The starting line, water stops and finish line support were great. The course is half flat then you get a couple of rolling hills followed by a large hill and over pass at mile 11. Great challenge! This is one I’ll do again
