I am working on 50 states and combined this with the Newport half marathon to do two in a weekend. Overall I think the race was great, and very well organized and supported. Running along the coast was great. There were a few hills here and there but overall the course wasn’t a huge challenge and I was happy to set a PR on this course after about 35 half marathons! 🙂
The wind was not great… and a good tailwind is never as helpful as a bad headwind is… but overall the weather was tolerable and pleasant.

This is my third time running the Cape Cod Half Marathon. It is a great loop course and beautiful scenery. When I first ran the race in 2022, it was a different course. This time around, part of the race is through a bike path. I appreciated the app that could help me track my friends!

Thought the whole weekend was tremendous! Well-organized, full of patrons & supporters, and we were blessed with perfect weather. The course was very clear & manageable for a first-timer, and it allowed me to beat my goal of under 2 hours! Only downside was the wind – it was howling on the back of the course! Will definitely be running again, and hopefully many other races in the future!

This was a great race! There were a lot of spectators to help cheer you on with the exception of Great Harbors where there weren’t too many. Course was fairly flat with the exception of a few rolling hills near the beginning and a few hills in the teens and early 20’s. The course was pretty and scenic as described. Parking was easy and the race itself was coordinated very well. The only things that could be improved are finish line photos and swag. There wasn’t much swag at the expo and sizes were sparse for what they had (and I didn’t even go to the expo late). They have a PR bell which was really fun and the medal is beautiful. Highly recommend!

i had been pretty uncertain how this was going to go given i had a wonky training schedule. i was pretty disheartened when i showed up to pick up my bib number, uncertain i was even going to finish. i felt as though i was going to feel emotionally and physically distant from folks, that i would be the last of the last. however, the day could not have been better.. everyone was so happy to be there and part of this day in the community. the coordinators, volunteers, other runners, and spectators made this a truly beautiful event. i smiled the entire 26.2 miles, surrounded (but not in an overwhelming way) by other people who just love running, love the outdoors, and love the chance to be in community. thank you for providing a little hope and pep in my step!

A friend recommended this race to me after they ran it last year, and I’m glad I took their advice and signed up. I enjoyed the views along the course, especially in the first half, and the hills were rolling and very manageable. The on-course support for the marathon was great – reliable water and Gatorade every two miles, well-staffed with volunteers. Even though the roads were partially open to traffic, I felt safe throughout. I was worried looking at the online map that I might get lost, but there were people telling you which way to go at each turn, so that was never a concern. Logistics were so easy from bib pickup all the way to post-race finding family. I’ll definitely be recommending this race to friends.

Did this race as my first-ever marathon, and it was amazing! The race did not go my way (nutrition/hydration plan needs some work) but for my first one, this was definitely a great choice. The views were great, and the weather was fantastic. The volunteers were keeping the energy going throughout the course, especially on the later miles, and although I was suffering after mile 18, I still enjoyed the race! I would love to do this again!

This race is so scenic, with views of the ocean as well as quaint Cape Cod houses. The course is a bit circuitous, but very well marked. The volunteers were excellent and there were just enough water stations. There was a surprisingly large number of crowds who were very vocal. I really appreciated the musicians along the way, which helped me at some points.

We were very lucky with the weather, which was absolutely perfect: in the high 40s and overcast at the start. There was very little win, which was also surprising.

Overall, this was an excellent course. It was not exactly flat and they were just enough hills to keep it interesting. The medal is the most enormous marathon metal I’ve ever seen. It is really nice

The only thing that disappointed me was that I wasn’t able to get a shirt because I signed up three weeks before the race.

This is my first marathon experience but I have been here twice to cheer on friends, and once to to run the half marathon which I also loved. It was less than 1000 people running the marathon so it didn’t feel overwhelming and you could find yourself a little bit secluded on the course (only if a few sections) if you are not with a crowd. The course is well marked and scenic and the volunteers and spectators are all cheerful and helpful. The first 7 miles had a good number of hills (not huge ones) but it is not flat. Then the bigger hill you encounter twice, but you are through it pretty quickly. Loved all the ocean/harbor/marsh views along the way. There were a few honking cars from impatient people who did not want runners in the road, but that was only in one small section. Otherwise I could not have asked for a better first marathon experience.

This was an excellent event! The communication before the event was very clear and I had no concerns or questions going into race day. They made a great video of the course. The bib pick up and expo was great! Lots of good merch. They had a kids fun run for my toddler which she loved. The course was beautiful and not very difficult. I was sick on race day, so I was not going for a fast time, but it would be a good place to get a PR. I loved that so much of it was on the coast. My only two critiques were there were some spots where I feel they could have had cones on the side of the road to create a lane for runners to get some separation from cars. I ran on the sidewalks at some points because I felt nervous of traffic. I also would have liked some more in race photographers stationed throughout the course. All that said it was a top notch event. The medal was epic too. I will be running this again next year.

This was my first time running a marathon and I don’t think I could’ve picked a better spot to have a breakout race. The views of Nantucket Sound were just breathtaking and the course wasn’t too bad. It’s relatively flat with some hills (the only hill that is an issue is Heights Hill, where the Falmouth Road Race takes place). Everything having to do with the race was very well organized and all of the volunteers and race officials were very friendly, just note that this race does not have a corral system so keep that in mind when lining up. I would do this race again in a heartbeat and will likely sign up for the full or half next year. If you’re looking for a race that isn’t just a race but an experience, this one is for you.

This run was great, such nice scenery and the people were amazing. My only note is that at times cars were allowed on the course and we had to run in between cars/ around them which was not ideal. Also at the end there needs to be water bottles but otherwise I loved it and would do it again for sure.

This was my first marathon, but I was very impressed with the set up and the execution of the race. Bib pick up and bag check was super easy, and all the volunteers were so attentive and helpful.
The racecourse itself was gorgeous with beautiful ocean views and some quite suburban sights. It was also well marked with mileage and volunteers at every turn making sure you went the right direction. Plenty of water and bathroom stations along the course as well.
After the race they offer runner free fruit, apple cider donuts, and a cup of clam chowder/other soup options. These all really hit the spot post race.
I saw some people complaining about last years medal, but they seem to have improved it, offering finishers a circular medal of the races shell logo that had some real weight to it. You also get a nice running long sleeve with bib pickup.
Overall would definitely do this race again and recommend to everyone!
