The BRA Run supports Evelyn’s BFF, a charity that helps breast cancer survivors get back to their new normal while supporting counseling, reconstruction and other items that people are often not able to get covered by their insurance. Most of our grant recipients have bills going into 6 figures! This event is the biggest fundraiser for this all volunteer organization and determines how many people they can help this year.
Enjoy a great morning of running or walking at the beach!!! Our BRA Run for Evelyn’s BFF 5K & 14K courses are perfect for a late summer run or walk. Participants will be running and walking along beaches you will recognize from years of watching Baywatch (don’t worry, we won’t tell anyone…)
This year, we have added a 15K to help celebrate Evelyn and her 15 year cancerversary. Evelyn is a breast cancer survivor and the founder of Evelyn’s Breast Friends Forever (BFF) a 501(c)3 non-profit public charity foundation.
Join us for Evelyn’s party and help her help other breast cancer survivors and their families. Our event will spread awareness of breast cancer reconstruction to the community by encouraging men and women to run and walk in their BRA (Breast Reconstruction Awareness) in honor and in memory of those who have been diagnosed with breast cancer.
Awards will be given to “Best Decorated Bra” in town – – so jazz up your bra ( sports bra, lacy bra, any bra) and get sassy!! Guys, we aren’t excluding you on this one either. For example, you may decorate a shirt with a bra on it – – or wear a bra over your shirt – – Be Creative and FUNNN!!!!

I have run this race 3 times, usually the longer distance but this year the 5k. The race itself is not bad, super flat, wide path, and it’s for a great cause. As someone who races A LOT, there are a few things that will break a race experience for me: 1) not starting on time, 2) taking forever to get to awards, 3) not having awards. Unfortunately this race hits all 3. This year was the worst, I think we started 20 minutes late, waited well over 90 minutes after the race for awards to start, and absolutely no awards for top overall finishers. Of the 3 years I’ve done the race they have only had overall awards once. I was hoping the first year was a fluke but now being 2 out of 3 I doubt I’ll be back.
Race not too organized

U turn volunteers were helpful. They ran out of finish line snacks and water for back of the pack. Registration for my friend got messed up. Only swag are t shirt, which ran a little smaller, and medal. Medal similar to previous years.
Very inspiring and moving!

This was a fantastic event! It was very well organized and ran well. The atmosphere and energy was upbeat and positive and overall amazing. Course was great. And I was really glad we were able to bring the pups along and that they had a dog costume contest. Only suggestion: move the dog costume contest up first since its so short and to the point, then followed by the rest of the awards ceremony. Great event! I highly recommend doing. My husband, my brother, and I will be doing it again next year!
