The Born To Run Ultra Marathon Extravaganza is a extraordinary trail running experience and much, much more. Since 2011, we have been meeting, running, dancing and celebrating on a private cattle ranch hidden somewhere in Santa Barbara California. By design, this event is difficult to find and challenging in every way.
Created by runners for runners, the Born To Run Ultra Marathon Extravaganza will feature Four Day, Three Day, 100 mile, 30 mile, 20 mile, and 10 mile trail runs. Mild springtime, coastal climate, gentle rolling hills, single and double track trail, wildflowers, red-tailed hawks, dark blue skies and pristine clean air makes for ideal running environment.
Course details:
– 100% dirt, ranch road and single track trail.
– 2 single direction loops that start and end and meet in the center.
– You will pass your vehicle every 10 miles. You are welcome to self crew out of your vehicle.
– Loop one is approximately 10 miles with +2100 feet of vertical gain. Loop one is marked with Pink ribbon.
– Loop two is approximately 10 miles with +1600 feet of vertical gain. Loop two is marked with Yellow ribbon.
– Striped ribbon indicates turns.
– Blue is bad. Blue ribbons indicate where not to go. Don’t pass Blue ribbons.

For this race, I stopped at 40 miles after 10 hours. I had an injury to my right leg that I wasn’t sure if it was okay to continue. So I played it safe. Looking back I should have just hobbled for the last 10 miles lol. But it was a great experience Born to Run is something else all together. Gathering with a bunch of people who love to do the same thing suffer together run together go on a journey together. It’s absolutely fun and an experience that everyone should have. Don’t miss out. Also it’s nice to challenge yourself you can pick any distance you’d like

I recommend this race to all. It is a beautiful 10 mile to 4-day ultra set on a ranch in Los Olivos. The shirt is high quality and VERY cool. The medal is the only one I have ever received that I can wear all year long! It is a handmade amulet and just wearing it makes you part of the B2R Tribe.
I did the course preview previously and this year I decided to shoot for the 30 miler. It was unbelievably beautiful and very well marked 10 mile loops. I loved coming back to camp after every 10 miles. Aid stations were on each loop and the vibe is awesome.
Something is always happening and the people are interesting. Camping is great and the race si even better. If you have been thinking about running this race DO NOT HESITATE. Sign up because it’s awesome and you will go back every year.
