THe Big Buffalo 50 is back with amazing swag this year! Every runner will receive a hooded sweatshirt + a trucker hat in an all-new color scheme.
The Big Buffalo 50 is the largest annual fundraiser for the Cancer Kickers Soccer Club. CKSC is a local 501c3 founded in 2016 by Michelle and Chris Clothier. The organization is committed to providing comfort, community, and connections to children around the world who are battling cancer. To date, the Cancer Kickers Soccer Club has provided over 2,000 kits to deserving children.
We would love to have the help of the Memphis running community! At registration, you will have the opportunity to make a donation to the Cancer Kickers Soccer Club. Every single dollar donated goes directly to the organization. It costs $300 to provide one child with a kit. That means that each relay team that registers is supporting a child battling cancer! Additionally, every four 50k runners and every three 50 mile runners that register are also supporting a child. We would be so grateful to have your financial support. Every dollar counts, no matter how large or small your gift! Together, we can make a significant impact on the lives of these brave kids!

Would recommend to first timers as the course was not difficult, to experienced runners looking for a PR. With the 50K relay option, there were lots of tents and people cheering, and with 5 loops of the same course, you had the opportunity to see family and friends often. Well stocked aid stations roughly every 1.5 miles meant you could just run and not worry about carrying your drink and food.
Absolutely recommend this race to anyone and everyone!!
Amazing experience and so well done!

The 50k was 5 laps of varied terrain (gravel, travel, paved paths) but relatively flat. Would be a great 1st time ultra for anyone getting into it. The aid stations were EVERYWHERE and so well stocked no need to carry individual nutrition. Probably the best swag of any race I’ve ever seen and the people were truly the kindest and most enthusiastic. They mix in a relay so you constantly have people that are cheering and running with you which I think also adds to the unique experience. Can’t recommend this one enough!
Ran on my own (official race postponed)

You run in circles on 4 miles of dirt/gravel roads and trails and 2 miles of concrete around the “lake”, repeat 5 times; still ended up about .5 miles short on my Garmin. Trail is not well maintained or really maintained at all very rutted and bridges are in disrepair.
