The esteemed host for this year’s event is none other than New Belgium Brewing along the French Broad River. Originating in Fort Collins CO, New Belgium brought their east coast hub to Asheville in 2016.

Event Overview
The event is meant to be a fun 5k or 10k relay with a team aspect. The course consists of one 5k out and back along the West River Arts District Greenway. There will be one water stop at the turn around point at the edge of the French Broad River Park.
Teams of 4 will each complete the 5k course once each in relay.
Teams of 2 will each complete the 5k course twice each in relay to run a 10k.
Single runners 5k/10k option. Runners will run the 5k loop once or twice and need no other team members.

This is a great, approachable, team racing opportunity. The course is challenging, with lots of uphill running. It’s not the most scenic course, but it’s not terrible.
The 4-person relay aspect is really fun and I wish there was another race or series like this. I would do it again.
The post-race food and swag was good, and you get a beer from the brewery near the start line.
