Support from volunteers was awesome. It was hot. There was ice and cold drinks everywhere. They ran 4 wheelers through the meadow to carry ice to anyone in need. Popsicles at the aid station. Home made and hand painted medals. Beautiful mostly dirt course. I was a first time runner and felt immediately at home. Organization was superb! You’re missing out if you don’t run!!

I appreciated the effort that went into the awards ceremony and making it meaningful for all of us runners .

This is a 3.4 mile gently rolling loop with a nice mix of cross country and trails in the woods. There was one fully stocked aid station with a variety of snacks at the start of each loop, with 3 additional aid stations out on the loop that provided water, Sword, and ice.
It was quite a hot day, but the race directors and volunteers made sure aid stations were stocked all day, helping runners deal with the heat. The volunteers went above and beyond, and the atmosphere had a pretty laid back and friendly feel to it.
Honestly, my only complaint was a timing error – they have some kinks to work out with the transition from the big loops to hot laps.

The best part of this race isn’t the course actually, it’s the race production crew, all of the volunteers, and all of the other runners. The race feels more like a homecoming than a running event.

It’s a 3-1/4 mile ( plus or minus) loop of mixed single track, open field, gravel (and even a very short strip of pavement) that brings you back into “tent city” about every 30- 40 minutes or so. You get to see everyone, often. The tent city aid station is well stocked with everything you may need, and even things you didn’t know you needed. They have music pumping, people cheering, relay teams hanging out and handing off, and everyone’s friends and family just hanging out and socializing.

It’s very high energy, very fun, and very hot!
