The 10th edition of Asuncion Marathon was a nice event that unfortunately suffered from heavy wind. The course starts at Costanera which is the coastline of Asuncion. We head strong headwind for the first 7k and again at the end. In the middle part when you run from the coastline to downtown the course has a 3k uphill part. There are many water stations along the course, but no isotonic drinks or gels. The atmosphere along the course was quite poor as there were no spectators. The city is not beautiful at all, but offers some museums. The distribution of the race packages took place in a modern shopping mall. All runners received a nice T-Shirt, a quite nice medal and some other stuff like a drinking bottle and soap 🙂 If you ever plan on running Asuncion Marathon Asuncion Rent Suites is a perfect place to stay as it’s right at start and finish of the race and a really good place to stay!
