The Striders Half Marathon and 10K features a fast mostly flat picturesque IAAF measured course starting at Yas Waterworld, taking in the Yas Plaza, Yas Marina, Ferrari World and Yas Mall and the greater environs of Yas Island.

The Abu Dhabi Half Marathon is very well organized but as it takes place on Yas Island the course is absolutely boring and not scenic at all. The best was the free entrance ticket to Water World, but unfortunately we didn´t have the time to use it.
Highlight: the after race

The Abu Dhabi Strider Half took place on Yas Island, a bit out of Abu Dhabi in a newly developed area with hotels, a mall, the formula one circuit…. and not much more around to see. Start and finish was a water ride park, plenty of parking and bag drop opportuinities if you needed.
The start was in corals though they didnt make sense to me (I was put wayyy behind my personal best; I later decided to accompany a friend so it didnt bother me) and like 15 min late. Technical t-shirt, medal, icecream and drinks after the race but the best was breakfast buffet and a free day pass in the water park that I unfortunately couldnt use.
If you are close, you can definitely run the race. I wouldnt travel for it.
