7 Rivers Water Festival 5K Winter Haven, FL   Sep 18, 2021

The Board of Directors of LEAD in partnership with Polk County and the City of Winter Haven is happy to announce the inaugural 7 Rivers Water Festival 5k.

Lakes Education/Action Drive (LE/AD), through collaboration from the above organizations, has been informing Polk County citizens on the wonders, care and uses of our lakes and watersheds for more than 30 years. The 7 Rivers Water Festival 5k is an event designed to help raise awareness of our water resources and how they need to be protected by encouraging citizens from around the county to participate in a fun activity.

Join us in Central Park, Downtown Winter Haven and run/walk a chip-timed 5k out and back on the Winter Haven Chain of Lakes trail and then enjoy the 7 Rivers Water Festival. Runners will receive a custom Unisex Dri-fit Shirt, a custom Bib and all 5K finishers on race day will receive a custom finisher medal.

After the race, the 7 Rivers Water Festival is a fun opportunity to learn more about water conservation. Enjoy games, take a plant tour or a boat cruise, touch-a-truck and take home useful prizes. This family-friendly event also features a Recycle Fashion Competition, a chance to “be a water drop in the water cycle,” join a volunteer organization and do a little shopping. There will also be opportunities to learn more about Polk’s water challenges, possible alternatives and how to maintain our local quality of life while lessening environmental impact through responsible water use and environmental awareness.

Brought to you by the City of Winter Haven and Polk County Utilities, this outdoor event will include all appropriate safety precautions.
