About Me

  • Running club(s):

Chicago Brunching Bandits, Busse Woods runners

  • Rave race:
  • Race that's calling my name:
  • I run because:

I run for so many reasons! I run because running is good for my soul, because running makes me feel good, and just because I can. Now, I run marathons for my son Adam, who made me run my first long distance race with him when he was only 13, and I would do anything to be able to run with him again.

Pros:
Plenty of water stops and Gatorade
Course is on asphalt, no concrete or stone
Few ups and downs, but nothing excessive, even for this flat lander
7 hour time limit gave everyone lots of time
CONS
There were a few spots near the end that were not well marked and we weren’t sure which way to go. Lucky for us, a spectator was at one of the tables and showed out to us and helped us out.
There was no Gu on the course and only a couple tables offered any type of food.
Not enough porta potties.

We had fun and I’m glad they held the race in person!

Ran during COVID and they did a great job keeping everyone safe.
CONS: non-stop rolling hills, all concrete course, no shade, STRONG winds
PROS: Amazing organizers, easy course to follow, easy parking, out and back race, and a shirt and medal that I would do the race all over again for.
I can’t say enough to the organizers that waited for me to finish! I had a hard time on race day. I’m a flatlander, and the hills were relentless. Add winds that about knocked me over and it was very challenging. I’m also older, and the all concrete course made my joints ache and the sun glared off the concrete. Lastly, the temperature reached over 80 degrees before I finished.
