It was a bit wet, but with the tree cover on the course it was not bad. And one must expect wet weather in the Pacific Northwest. Lots of aid station and support along the route of the half. Unfortunately for me I hit a wall at mile 10, it happens

Salt lake residents are very supportive of the runners in this race every neighborhood has residents out cheering the runners on. Lots and lots of aid stations. Signage on course was great, can’t make a wrong turn. Traffic control was top notch. Normally I do not like running through neighborhoods but the architecture was so diverse with a mixture of old and new so I enjoyed the sites.
Everyone should run this race at least once.

Race was cancelled. Probably will not complete this vacation races. Did not get cancellation insurance on airfare and hotel so took the cross country trip to Florida. I really think the cancellation reason was bogus. Lack of scenery on course, Ha. There is no scenery on the rocky mountain course, Teton course only had a view the last 3 miles so cancelling for lack of scenery was not true

The hardest part of this race was the altitude. The second hardest is starting the run with a hill. The scenery wasn’t as good as many Vacation Races, basically running the outskirts of neighborhoods. With that said as always VR had great aid stations and an awesome finish line production/welcome. Also love there packet pickup and vendors.

Well it would have been easy if I had trained. This is a fairly flat course on an old railroad bed. It follows the Weiser River. Normally April is a great time to run this course but spring is a little late along the Weiser this year. This race has great volunteers along the course. And because there is a relay going on at the same time you have a large cheering section at the aid station.

The race scenery was awesome. Mixed surfaces but very runnable. Unfortunately the weather did not cooperate. A lot of rain fell which made the normal great finish line production not up to VR standards (not there fault). The rain affected the party music at the end, sound systems just don’t like rain. I really like the normal VR finish line welcome. I will always recommend Vacation Race. They are an awesome team and puts on a top notch race.

This race has a lot of technical spots. The single track was overgrown and hid a lot of trippers. Never fell but sure did stumble my way through. The description of the race was good. What saved me was the lack of time limit , because with each stumble I found myself going slower. That’s because I am old and trying to stay upright became my main goal😬

Great volunteers to guide you along the course when running through neighborhoods. Sure was glad the last little hill where the grim reaper usually greeted runners in past years was no longer part of the route The hot soup was great after a rainy day run, which is normal for a November race.

Thought under new management it would improve. The course was marked much better but the promised finisher metal was non existent unless you were among the front. They did give a glass but you had to hunt that down. No one seemed to know anything about the metals or the glass we just happened to notice a booth as we were walking to our cars. No officials at the finish line. Good thing I had friends there cheering me on because the only official was the timer. I guess if you are slow you don’t count, but I am old so I am slow but I still ran the 14 miles. Yes the course was long it was just shy of 14

Fun race well manage, great volunteers. The course is flat and is on an old railroad bed. It can be a bit rocky in places Most the course is along the Weiser river. This year I decided not to do the 50k but participated in the relay. It’s a great race for those doing there first 50k

This race has some of the best volunteers ever. They put on a great race with plenty of aid stations. Packet pickup was a breeze. The course is challenging but well worth the effort. And they served a nice meal afterwards. The race earnings are going to rebuild the high school track so we run this race for a good cause.

The biggest problem with this race was the poor communication. Packet pickup was changed at least twice discovered that when going to pickup packet . 3rd time was the charm. At pickup they said shirts would be available race day. Race day they said they didn’t bring the shirts because it was raining. We were told they would set up another packet pickup. Still waiting.

This race had a mixture of terrain. A couple of hills but they were not to tough. Love the course, Love the volunteers. Race production was awesome. I would recommend doing this race if you have the chance. The setting close to the Rainer National Park made it an awesome mini vacation. And you never know when you will spot Big Foot.

Nice to be on the slow side, because the bears were all scared away. Love the way Vacation Races put on there races, from the energy they produce to the great aid stations.

Very congested run, so many people. Stood in corral for the start for over 45 minutes. I really don’t know what can be done with the number of racers to improve this. It was kind of cool to run the strip at night. After finishing the race you had a long walk just to get out of the shoot.

I have ran the race before. I’ve run the 5k &10k so why not go for the trifecta and run a half. Ran a personal best. The course is flat and a bit crowded especially the last two miles when the course merges with the 5k walkers and family groups.
The proceeds are very a very good cause. Overall a well produced race.
