Start of race was very well organized. Lots
Of port of potties.

The city was ELECTRIC . There was maybe 1 mile total on the whole course that didn’t have 4-5 people deep, it was so exciting.

This also made it VERY hard to see supporters as it was so hard for them to move around the city.

I also found it very difficult to identify the water stations as they were far off to the sides.

The course was SO crowded so it was often very hard to find a groove without bumping into someone.

The end was a mess – runner meet ups were nearly Impossible for spectators to get to (you had to cross the course to do so). There was no communication about what tube stops were
Open / Closed. Would recommend a runner meet up spot far away from the finish

- Smooth shuttle service - Nice post-race party - Not great scenery, weird "loop" in the middle of the course - like running through a cul-de-sac - Not enough port-o-potties MORE

The view is so stunning at times you *almost* will forget your running up a steep incline likely with a headwind on the edge of a cliff. Then back half is basically all downhill and it really was a cool way to see GNP.

It’s worth noting (at least in ‘23 this is how it was) that you have to drive a bit (maybe 20 minutes) from the VR campground to the shuttle bus then take a shuttle to the start line (another 10 minutes or so) which is truly just on the side of the road. Then of course there is a shuttle back to your car.

Everything ran very smoothly but it certainly would have been nice to park at the finish and take a shuttle to the start. We weren’t really anticipating all those moving parts before the 6 am start!

I received a lottery entry into the marathon and was beyond excited. We arrived in country on Wednesday (from chicago) and were able to explore Berlin before race day. Expo was at an old airport which was so cool to see. The course really is fast and flat and the temperature was perfect. It was easy to navigate as nearly everyone speaks English and it was incredible running through the Brandeberg gate at the end. Some folks had trouble finding bathrooms but I found there were a lot without lines adjacent to the starting corrals so use those instead of the first ones you see when you enter the runners village. Would for sure recommend this race to anyone looking for an international
