The Rope Mill Trail Run half marathon course will begin along the concrete path to allow runners to space out before entering the singletrack portion of the course. Runners will turn right at the bridge and complete Moore’s Pass, Power House, Raceway, and Turbine all in a clockwise direction. These trails are wide and allow for easy passing. Runners will then return across the bridge and run Explorer Loops 1 and 2 counter-clockwise. The course returns to the start/finish via singletrack trail that links Explorer to the parking lot, crosses the parking lot, then heads onto the Avalanche Trail where runners will proceed counter-clockwise on the Avalance Trail Loops 1, 2, and 3 and then head back to the start/finish to complete the half marathon course. Actual course distance is 13.3 miles.
Because these trails are all directional bike trails, you will not be able to “legally” run the entire 13.1 mile course in the race direction on the same day. Please run opposite the daily bike direction and always check sorbawoodstock.org for trail open/closed status before heading out.
The 10K course will begin along the concrete path and head straight up the gravel road for spacing, and complete a short 1 mile counter clockwise loop on Explorer Loop 1 before heading across the parking lot to run Avalanche Loops 1, 2, and 3 in the counterclockwise direction. Always run opposite the bike traffic, so pre-run days for the short course in race direction are Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
