The mountain views were terrific! I stayed at the Courtyard Marriot and it was the perfect place in relation to the bus loading area and the finish line. The expo was excellent. Plenty of booths to visit, lots of free items, and not crowded in the least. We were loaded onto buses to be transported to the start line. The start line area had plenty of bathrooms, as well as fire pits to keep you warm. The course had a few hills in the first 2 miles, but the rest of the race was all downhill! The finish line festival had lots of food and booths, as well as live music. The medal and shirt were quality. I highly recommend this race!

This is a HUGE race. 21,000+ runners on Sunday between the Full and Half. The expo was fairly large and had lots of vendors. I really liked the swag: shirt, blanket, magnet, and poster. The corrals on race day were very crowded as expected, and the first few miles were shoulder to shoulder. It thinned out slightly after 3 miles, but the entire course was well populated. Yes, there are hills after mile 5, but not horrible. The views were beautiful at the top! The crowd support was great and very consistent throughout the race. The last 3 miles were all downhill, so it made for a fun finish. The post race celebration area was super crowded, but once you got through the families waiting, there was plenty of space in the park. The Skyline chilidog was the highlight for me! Overall, very pleased with this race.

This was my first year running this race and they set it up to be a glow run, which was neat. Check-in was super easy inside a local gym with plenty of restrooms and not crowded at all. They had several tents set up with snacks and drinks. The local community college band and cheerleaders had a pep rally before the race started. The course is through downtown Ellisville and through the campus of Jones College. The first half was very well organized and plenty of crowd support and route instructions. The route got very confusing near the library area of campus and a lot of people took a wrong turn. There were signs, but they weren’t very visible at night. The end of the course in downtown didn’t have anyone showing which direction to run, so a lot of people took the wrong route and came through the finish line the wrong direction. Overall, this is a great local race, and with a little course direction could be even better. Will be doing this one again.

I ran as the 10:30/mile pacer for the half marathon. There were lots of changes this year and mostly for the better. The race expo/packet pick up was a breeze. The course utilized a new bridge (twice) which was somewhat of a challenge. There were several other small hills as well. There was a lot more of the course on the campus of USM which was nice. The water stations were well staffed and there was plenty of volunteers throughout the course to help navigate. The post race festival was in a new park and was much improved, which several great food options and live music. I would say that this race was very much improved this year.

This is a fun family event for Easter weekend. The race begins at SoPro Brewery in downtown Hattiesburg. The course is a down and back format that is mostly on the Longleaf Trace. There was also a 1 mile kids fun run after the 5K that involved finding Easter eggs on the last stretch. The awards were held at SoPro after the race and included a free beer. All around, this was a fun family event if you are looking for a race on Easter weekend in the Hattiesburg area.

This was a challenging course will plenty of hills. The start line could’ve used a couple of improvements, like more bathrooms and maybe a better sound system so we could hear the announcements and anthem. The course was mostly through neighborhoods and had adequate water stations. The signage was good and the course workers were great. The finish fest was excellent. Plenty of post race snacks, locally brewed beer with an awesome beer glass, and smores stations!

What else do you need to know other than there’s free king cake at the finish festival? One of the largest races in the Southeast, almost 10k between the full and half. The course is decent, only a few small hills along the way, with many nice houses around the lake. Most of the course had great crowd support and the aid stations were well put together. I highly recommend this race.

Race Day: Get on the early shuttles to the start line. There are probably 20+ port-o-potties, but the lines are insanely long.
Course: Straight and flat course, but somewhat narrower in places than I imagined. You basically get one lane, so it gets congested at times. Was very windy due to being right on the beach, but the views were nice! You pass at least 4 Waffle Houses with 2 more at the finish line lol. Be ready for the only incline of the race at Mile 12 as you have to ascend an exit ramp for a down and back before you enter the baseball stadium where the finish line is located.
Post Race: Several food and drink options, but it gets crowded quick.
Overall a great race, plenty of things to do in the area.

Great local race on Thanksgiving morning. It seems to be growing every year. I believe there were over 300 runners. Packet pickup was available the morning of the race in the Lake Serene clubhouse. The course is through a neighborhood with a few small hills, but nothing too bad. The scenery around the lake was nice. The shirt was dri-fit and longsleeve, but there is no medal for this race. You can choose the 5-Mile Run or the 2-Mile Walk, with awards for each in all age divisions.

This is a well organized event put on by FGH Cancer Center. If you’re local to the Hattiesburg area, this is a great opportunity to get a 5K in. The course is mostly flat with a couple of hills through neighborhoods. There is a 5K and 2-mile walk option as well as a kids run. I really liked that they had live bands at the start/finish line festival and also one along the course near the finish. The post race food was great! This race was smaller than I was expecting, but that’s not a bad thing. Everyone was just so nice! The Half runners are bussed to their start line about halfway through the marathon course. Quiet and peaceful area for the most part. The scenes around the lake were amazing! Quite a few hills that make for a small challenge, but nothing too bad. The only negative is the traffic on the last half of the course. Other than that, this was a fun race.

Some really beautiful scenery on this course. There’s a bit of a walk to the start line down a huge hill. I didn’t really care for the 3 out-and-backs, especially at the end of the race. Most of the beginning of the race is on a trail, so be prepared for that. It eventually turns into a paved surface and then to a narrow sidewalk for a bit. I did enjoy getting to run along the coast line. The water stops were consistent, just remember to bring your own cup. The medal and shirt were great!

The race expo was decent. Lots of clothing, shoes, glasses, etc. Packet pickup was easy with almost no lines. The course was mostly flat which made for a very PRable course. The only hills were going through the tunnels of Churchill Downs. I was expecting a bit more scenery running through the horse track, but most of the views were blocked by fences and other large items, but it was cool nonetheless. Crowd support was very good at times. Thanks to the guys handing out Red Bulls on Mile 12. They had a few snacks and beverages at the post race area, but nothing out of the ordinary. The medals and shirts were nice. They give a bonus medal if you run the 5K the night before. Overall a great race.

This was an out and back course that crosses into Indiana by bridge. There is a hill/ramp on each side of the bridge that were somewhat tough. It had just rained so the ramps were a little scary. There was one water station at the halfway point. The distance on my watch was actually a little long (3.22 miles). Unfortunately we had a delayed start because there was lighting in the area. Luckily there was an overpass that we all could get under until it passed. The medal and shirt were nice.

They have a different theme each year (Dinosaurs this year) which made for an interesting race. The medals were nice and big. Not much of a post race festival, just a few places to take pictures.

This race was very well put together. Packet pickup was easy enough. There were around 1500 that participated in the 5K. I feel like the wave sizes were adequate. The course had quite a few small hills in mile 1, with a long downhill, long up hill in miles 2 & 3. The race started and finished in the Mercedes Benz Dome area, so the scenery was nice. The course was well staffed with volunteers and police. There are several hotels that were walking distance, so we didn’t have to worry about parking. Looked like there were several good food truck options.

The race begins in the park across the highway from the beach. It is a down and back course that is part boardwalk, part pavement and mostly flat. The boardwalk sections are somewhat narrow, but running across the lake was nice. Other than that, there isn’t much scenery to enjoy. I can’t speak too much about Pre-race and Post-race events because it was a torrential downpour the entire race, so we left very quickly afterwards. The shirt and medal were Safari animal themed, but a little too cartoonish for my taste.

Overall, this race is a good one, but cold! Not terribly crowded, and parking was easy to find. The course has a few small hills and one bridge, but other than that it’s pretty flat. It is a down and back course through downtown, so the view is mostly buildings. The finish festival offered gumbo, jambalaya, 4 flavors of Abita beer, and live music. Pair this race with any Gulf Coast Marathon distance and you get the Beach to Bayou bonus medal.

This is my 2nd year running this race. Getting to run near water is always a plus, not to mention all of the fun things to do in the area. The majority of this race is across a bridge, and the incline can be a challenge, so be prepared. The finish line is at the Margaritaville Resort, which is nice. Overall, this race is very well put together.

First of all, don’t go in thinking this is a race. It is untimed. Pre-race production was top notch. SUPER crowded at the start line, so expect to have to walk the first few minutes. Once you get into the parks, it’s really cool! Several opportunities to take pictures with characters along the way. The shirt and medal were both great.

Indianapolis is a terrific city to visit. We were able to catch a Colts game while we were in town, among other things. It was nice being able to run around Lucas Oil Stadium and the downtown area. It was a fairly large race with all 3 distances beginning immediately after the other. It was cold and windy, so be prepared. The finish line area was super crowded. The medal was nice, but the shirt could use some design improvements.

So many people! Definitely the largest race I’ve been to with over 9k participants. The streets are very wide and there are several corrals, so not crowded too bad. Lots of wind in certain areas! I loved having lots of spectators along the route. The beanie and medal were nice, but no other 5k swag available to purchase. The scenery was great while running through downtown.

This race was very well put together. The location was a wedding venue that was beautiful. The race is on the Longleaf Trace, which is completely paved, but somewhat narrow. The majority of it is flat with the exception of the last tenth of a mile that is uphill. The festival afterwards has a huge selection of food and drinks, all free. The medal is also the biggest one I’ve ever seen. Great event for a great cause!

Nashville is a fun city to visit, lots of things to do. The race was very well put together. The only complaint I have is the lack of food trucks after the race. There were only a couple for several thousand people. The entertainment was awesome! Several bands performing along the course and at the post race party. I will definitely be going again.
