This was my first time running in the Whiskey Run. This was both a 10K and a 5K. I hadn’t run a 5K in a while and I’m not known for my speed. It was definitely not my best performance. But everyone was so nice! Great volunteers. The finishing medal was a flask! And after the race, there was whiskey sampling as well as other local vendors. There was live music and food trucks. Just a great community event. Not a huge crowd, but just enough to make this an awesome day. Also grateful the rain held off long enough during the race. Will definitely be back!

This was my third time running the Spring Race. Two years ago, I ran the Half Marathon and the last two years, I ran the 10K. The races in Lake Placid are very well organized. The Volunteers were awesome and the local crowd was very supportive! We had around 1500 runners between the three races. Weather was overall good even though it did rain towards the end of the full marathon. The goodie bag was full of fun stuff. Great race shirt and the finisher medals were hand-carved wood. The hills are always a challenge, especially the last one, but amazing job once again!

This is the third time I’ve run this race and its slowly becoming more and more popular. I think this was my slowest effort and unfortunately, the Winter months here were pretty brutal and I didn’t train as much in the past. But the Medal this year was very cool, and lots of swag with shirts, glasses, stickers as well as food, beverages and live music at the finish line. Half marathon and 5K also took place. Weather this year was perfect. Good warmup race since I run in Lake Placid, NY three weeks later. I’ll be back next year!

There are some great road races in the Adirondacks and this one again did not disappoint. Those hills are not easy and I admit walking for most of the last one near the Olympics Ski Jumps, but Lake Placid puts on some great running races. We had awesome weather for this event and still some foliage showing. I was 5 minutes faster than two years ago. Packet pickup was very easy and great community involvement for this event. There were water and gatorade tables every two miles. The finishing medal was beautiful made of hand carved wood and a very nice depiction of running in the Adirondacks. The race shirt was also very nice and they had other items for sale as well. I definitely recommend running a race in Lake Placid just for the beauty of the area but you will definitely earn your medal with the hills you have to climb.

When I saw the many positive reviews of this Race, I had this on my list to run. I absolutely had the best time! The atmosphere was exciting, packet pickup was easy and the Expo held was so well organized. We were placed in corrals based on our average times for race day. They had pacers for this event which was great. What a rush with almost 6000 Participants! The weather was absolutely perfect! Great medal, shirt, socks and food at the end. The race lager was so good too. What an exciting crowd with marching bands, cheerleaders, firemen cheering overhead on the ladder trucks and the excitement of running on Interstate 190 with spectators cheering from the overpasses! If you are a 10K Runner, you must RUN this race at least once! I’m so happy I did!

They actually added a 10K Race this year so I ran that! I ran about an hour and 21 minutes btw. Having an apache helicopter fly over at the start of the race! WOW! The hills of Lake Placid are a challenge but this race is so good and the volunteers are amazing! I can’t recommend enough! Beautiful weather this year. Very different than last year!

I really like this race and course. The volunteers were super nice. Nice swag and finishing medal. Weather was cold and rainy this year. If I had to critique one thing, I wish the 5K and 10K started at different times. The half marathon started at 8:30 and the other two races started at 9. Traffic got a little congested once the 5K runners turned around at their halfway point. We just had to dodge runners running towards you! I didn’t remember the congestion last year because I think there were two different starting times. But besides that, everything went well. Easy check-in and great communication overall.

I was planning on running the Half Marathon but I downgraded a few days before since Winter in Northern NY has been brutal and I didn’t feel ready for 13.1. No issues changing races! Packet pickup was very easy and the shirt and hat were awesome! It was my second best 10K time! It was so well organized. We had live music and DJs all through the race course. The spectator support was amazing! The course was pretty flat but going up the causeway twice still made for a good challenge. The medal was awesome. This year’s theme was starfruit. Lots of water and Gatorade on the course and great snacks at the end. I can’t recommend this race enough! Now I want to come back and run the half next year and the next year’s theme is dragon fruit! Great first race in Florida and perfect weather too!

This was my second half marathon. The weather was great. Packet pick-up was in Rochester about a half hour away from LeRoy but it was very easy and quick. I really enjoyed the course. It was pretty flat but there were some uphill climbs and curves in the roads. Running on a gravel path in between cornfields was really neat. There were several beverage stations with water, gatorade and of course Jell-O! The volunteers were so nice and there were a few fans along the way cheering us on. At mile 9, my back started bothering me from the five hour drive I had to get there so I had to walk for a bit. But I finished strong and got my second best time. (I really wanted to ring the Jell-O bell for my fastest time but I guess there is always another race!) They also had some BBQ at the finish with bottled water and of course Jell-O! Fun race and would definitely recommend. The medal and the race shirt were absolutely the coolest! Just wish I lived a little closer!

This was my first 10K in Vermont and the scenery was very nice. Race weather was ideal with a temperature of 65 and partly cloudy. I’m grateful the rain held off until the afternoon! Race Vermont put on a great race with outstanding officials and volunteers. The course was overall flat but some of the roads had a few ups and downs which made for a challenge at times. This was my first race Post COVID which I had a month ago so I was still dealing with an occasional annoying cough and I wasn’t as strong as previous races. However, I still managed my 2nd best time which was great. I would definitely recommend this race and I hope to run a half marathon next year in Vermont. Thanks for a great race and I love my shirt and finishing medal!

I started running nine months ago. Lake Placid, NY is my hometown so I was so excited to make this my first half marathon! This event was very well organized. Over 1200 runners ran the Marathon, Half Marathon and the new 10K Event this year. The scenery is gorgeous. The Weather was only in the 50’s and we dealt with showers off and on. (Not the norm for this time of year, but great running temperature.) There were two large hills at Mile 11 and towards the end which will give you a challenge. Great crowd support and volunteers. Swag was good and we received our results in a timely manner. Highly recommend!

This was the second year of the Lake City Running Festival and I ran the 10K. A half marathon and a 5K was also held. I did get a personal best in this event. Course is very flat overall. I thought the event was very well run. Check-in was easy the night before. Nice crowd support. The volunteers were friendly providing beverages along the way. They had live music after the event. Lots of family involvement. Beautiful weather for this event this year. Very nice medal as well. Definitely recommend!

This was my first ever race since high school and I really enjoyed training for it. Unfortunately, it was a lousy weather day with heavy rain and cold. I had to retire that pair of running shoes after this one! But, I still had a great time. Lake Placid’s races are very well organized. Despite the weather, the fans were great and the volunteers were awesome supporting us on. There are two wicked hills in this course so you will work for that medal. Overall, a great experience.
