About Me

  • Running club(s):
  • Rave race:
  • Race that's calling my name:
  • I run because:

    I run to travel, to explore the word one race at a time. I like the atmosphere of a race event, from the bib pick up to the pasta party, from the start of the race to the collection of the medal. This is why I train all year long, to be fit enough to enjoy race day. I’m in love with the half marathon distance, that is challenging enough to train for it, but not as much as the marathon distance, and is perfect for running weekends abroad. I have one lifetime goal : run 1 half marathon in every country 🙂

Running in Asia is challenging, the heat, the humidity and the traffic does no help. But I loved running in Chiang Mai, the race starts at 2 a.m, it is not that hot, but you will feel the humidity. It is a rather small event, but very well organized ! Start is at Ta Phae Gate, and the first part of the race running Chiang Mai old town is beautifull. The last part of the race offers less scenery. Race pack includes a very nich t-shirt and one of the most beautifull Elephant medals ! Finisher bag offers lots of food, uncluding a burger from McDonalds !

I love Edinburgh. The atmosphere, the castle, the pubs, the stories, the archictecture, it’s christmas market, so running the half marathon was always on my bucket list.
The event is well organized, the expo is small, you have to check in your bag at departure as the finish area is quite far from the center, they organize shuttles to bring you back to Edinburgh.
I like the secnery, it starts in the historic city ( which can be challenging to run on the stoned streets) and then go into a more residency area ( where a lot of people cheers, some offered whiskey shots, other tea and biscuits). A great portion of the race brings you near the sea and offer a different scenery. The first part of the race is all downhill, and the rest is flat which make it a great event to go for a PB. It was my first sub 2 half and I will always remember it for this !
I highly recommend this event in a great city !

I had this race in my bucket list for a very long time. Having the chance to visit South Africa regularly for work, this is THE main event in Cape Town runner calendars. There is the Ultra ( 56km) and the Half (21km). I did the half marathon, and it did not disappoint. From the race expo, to the finish line and the energy in Cape Town during race week, you can feel the atmosphere in the city ! It is a very tough race, with 300m elevation gain, but the energy, the crowd support and the beauty of the scenery makes it an unforgetable event ! Plus, the medal is vey nice ! I will run this race again !

I was disapointed by the route as most part of the race is actually outside of the city, in the Bois de Vincennes. Come on Paris, you have so much more to show for your half marathon ! This is a massive event with 40 000 runners, and I have to admit that it is well organized on race day, with successive departure, you do not feel the mass of people. Disapointed by the race pack as well, with just the t-shirt from the race, for 55 € they can do better ! Also, the expo is not well located, at the far north east part of the city, at the parc de la Villette. On the plus side, the medal is nice with a beautiful design every year.

Like Paris half marathon, the route for the Amsterdam Half marathon is quite disapointing. Most part of the race is done outside of the city, the only fun part happens at the end with the part in beautiful Vondelpark and the finish in the Olympic Stadium. The race starts at 1:30 p.m ( strange!) and it can be very hot in Amsterdam at this time. It is an easy route, quite flat and fast apart from a few uphills at the end of the race. But Amsterdam has so much more beauty and scenery to offer ! Also, the expo is too crowded and the medal is very boring. Amsterdam, you have a lot to imrpove !

Budapest half marathon is the perfect destination for a running week end in Europe. Easy to reach, cheap accomodation and food options, tons of things to do in the city, from thermal baths to roomkerts, Budapest is a fantastic city to visit !
The half marathon is well organized, the route is fantastic, as you are basically taking a sightseeing tour in the beautiful Budapest, runiing both sides of the Danube river, crossing bridges with amazng views on Buda castle and the Parliament.
On the negative side, the expo is far from the city center, not super easy to reach and has no interest at all, very small and little entertainment.
They offer a beautiful medal each year.
