This course is awesome, I signed up for the cave but the rest of the course was the better part. The cave is cool but after running 12 miles it’s just ehh. You can’t really run in the cave, at least not full speed, so this isn’t a PR course by any means. The rest of the course is gorgeous, and the hills are over blown by other reviewers other than the ones at mile 8, and 11.

Shirt and medal are cool. Would recommend for your Alabama half if you are a 50 stater.

The cave is super cool but would be better enjoyed on its own.

Can’t think of anything to be critical of, just excellent across the board.

This course is very flat around some nice, beautiful areas of Baton Rouge. Race production was excellent, very organized. The course was excellently marked and the roads were all closed to traffic. There was no expo, but that’s not important to me.
Baton Rouge isn’t necessarily a destination city, but I would definitely recommend this race to 50 staters or locals.

The course was overall pretty great. The first couple miles aren’t anything great, but then the Dahlia fields are pretty incredible. After you leave the Dahlia fields you run on a nice trail and through some nice Oregon country area. It is relatively flat.

The biggest complaint about the race was that I spent a great amount of time not knowing whether or not I was on the course! There was no volunteers on the course, which makes no sense! How does it create a COVID risk to have someone stand on a corner and tell runners which way to turn? It was made worse that the race is relatively small so I often didn’t have runners within 100s of yards in front or behind me. I wasted a lot of mental energy concerned I had missed a turn somewhere.

I wasn’t alone in my frustration. The race sent an email the day after apologizing for the confusion and lack of direction on the course. I would imagine that would mean in future years it will be taken care of.

The course is great, from downtown Fort Worth to the stockyards it was beautiful and relatively easy.

This was a unique year to run due to COVID. They broke the runners into waves and so we started at 1 pm with only about 50 other runners. Calico racing did a great job of making it safe and still smooth production.
The course is one of my favorite ever. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing and had no clue it was going to be so beautiful. I also couldn’t believe how much elevation gain there was in the first half! I was not prepared for that (my fault for not researching more.) It is an out and back course though, so despite walking half of the first 7 miles I still finished around my average half time because I was able to cruise downhill in the second half.

The medal was pretty cool as well. Definitely recommend running this incredible course.

The first half of this race is exactly what you would hope for from a half marathon in a beautiful location like Charleston. Beautiful views of the water, houses, and downtown. However, the second half is far below average for a course. I can’t really stress how horrible the second half was. Industrial, construction zones. Not to mention the course was a half a mile long.

Swag and expo were good, and Charleston is always fun to visit. I would recommend it, but I hope they can improve the course.

This is a relatively small but well produced race. The town of Poulsbo is beautiful and very fun to run through. The course has great scenery. I wasn’t expecting the large hill in the race, but because it is out and back you also get the downhill. Definitely a race I would recommend.

Like all Revel races this has a huge elevation drop. However the last stretch of the race is partially flat which absolutely killed me after running 18 miles downhill. Plus, it is a boring mile out and back which was unfortunate.
The course is beautiful and the production was well above average. I would recommend, I would just caution you to know what you are signing up for and not to think the elevation loss will mean it will be easier.

The course is beautiful, with great community support. There is one big hill that is about a half mile long I believe. Other than that the course was pretty flat. 100% would recommend and plan on running it again myself someday.
