Working on a personal challenge to run a 10K in every state. Visiting Disney with my son and took a day to run the Orlando 10K. Well organized, flat, easy, comfortable course. Nice to explore other parts of Orlando other than theme parks. I recommend the race, March weather was ideal.

Always well-run and well-attended-consistently the best course I’ve raced in the last 23 years. Patriotic, inspirational, scenic, excellent support for water and safety. Arrive at the starting line early enough to see the Golden Knights jump and the Army helicopters fly-over. Great crowd of runners!

Start time race temperature 55 degrees and cloudy, light rain was predicted but held off. First 1/2 mile was a big hill but after that it was manageable ups and downs. Well-run, a water stop every mile. Friendly crowd and Helena is just a great town to visit in the summer. The lilac was in bloom and the food was fresh and healthy. Nothing like Big Sky country- the Governors Cup is worth the trip.

Classic Texas Hill Country course-Fun day. But a weather high pressure moved in and race temperatures reached the mid-90s. More shade on the trails than I expected and that was a relief. Nice group of runners and organizers (based out of Austin), a younger crowd. I hope they start the race earlier next year.

This race has been around for a long time. There were 8000+ participants in 2022-lots of walkers. Scenic course, shady, the temperatures were moderate but beware of NOLA humidity. Started at the SuperDome, finished in NOLA City Park. Nice post-race festival. It is a point-to-point race. Makes for a fun weekend as NOLA as lots to see and do.

I didn’t know what to expect in the west Texas town of San Angelo but it was a terrific race! The race covered the Texas landscape of San Angelo State Park. Friendly volunteers, well-marked course, solid snacks. 800 total participants for all the races and it had an intimate, small town feel. The finisher medals are wood crafted-special. They awarded the Ultra finishers-belt buckles. Enjoyed my time exploring historic San Angelo on the Concho River.

The course “Vegas Strip at Night” is what this race is all about. Completely different from any other course you have run and just “So Vegas”! Very flat and the race temperature was ideal (upper 50s). Picking up the bib and t-shirts was simple, centrally-located on the Strip. The Rock and Roll running franchise knows how to carry out the details. My only beef-a big race and the startling line for the different corrals moved slowly. But a fun and happy crowd, lots of costumes-, older crowd, more women than men. Tip-don’t arrive early to the starting area-too much waiting around.

The Rock and Roll Running Series are popular and there is a reason. They are well-managed, located in fun locations, and If you register early enough, reasonably-priced. The local music and bands of the Rock and Roll series are always a treat. Phoenix is an ideal get away from winter’s cold to enjoy the beauty and mild temperatures of the desert. The course is mostly flat, the mornings cool, and the Tempe course is visually interesting with clean streets, shops, the canal, and the surrounding desert mountains. Travel to Phoenix is easy and inexpensive, frequent flights from major cities, an easy to manage light-rail system, and a choice of hotels for any budget. Post-race-restaurant variety and an unlimited choice of hiking trails to explore. Few suggestions for Rock and Roll Races-improved post race snacks and easier gear check pre-race.

Rock and Roll San Antonio is a nice option to the traditional Jingle Bell Runs of December. There are a variety of distances and the unique culture and music of San Antonio is present throughout the course and race. Mild temperatures, flat course make for a fast day. Unfortunately the course is visually uninteresting-it needs more historic sites like the Alamo or the San Antonio missions. Still San Antonio is a fun weekend with delicious Mexican food, the beauty of the downtown River Walk decorated for Christmas, and family activities (Sea World, Six Flags) on a non-run day. Rock and Roll Series are well-run races with plenty of water stops, port-a-potties, and post-race festivities.
