Two states, two times the fun!
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to run through two states – not to mention, our two favorite states? Well, here’s your chance to find out with the Palmetto Peach Half Marathon, 10K and 5K!
Cross the start line in South Carolina (“The Palmetto State”) at the state-of-the-art SRP Park, in North Augusta. Listen to the spectators’ cheering fade into chirping birds and rustling leaves as you find your stride on the peaceful and picturesque North Augusta Greeneway.
Skip through the Mayberry-esque downtown North Augusta before crossing the Savannah River, into Georgia (“The Peach State”). You’ll be feeling really good as you pace through Augusta, the hometown of the Godfather of Soul.
Scamper back into South Carolina to experience some southern charm and Charleston-inspired architecture. Slide into home base at SRP Park before snagging your medal!
Don’t forget to celebrate your home run finish with our lineup of post-race activities!

Everything about this race is great from the smooth packet pickup to the finish line. The sweatshirt that we got from this race is so comfortable. The route is scenic as well as challenging. The course looks like it would be flat but the small hills in the middle are always a surprise.

The folks at Fleet Feet put this race on and always do a great job. The scenery at the Greenway is always so nice. At the end you can get a free beer or soda in a special glass. They also give out a jacket or sometimes a headsweats visor as the swag, in addition to the great medal.

There are rolling hills, and then there is a monster hill that you literally must lean forward to get up. With that being said, do this race. A good portion is on a wooded greenway, then through a neighborhood. You cross from SC into GA and back by crossing the river over the bridge – a flat bridge – perfect for photos. The shirt was a quart zip thermal tech, the finish was in the stadium, and the medal was gorgeous. Parking was easy, and we will do this one again to see just how bad that hill really is. Lots of water stops, vendors in the stadium before and after the race, and post-race beer in color-changing cups. It was a small race, and I hope that is only because it was so soon after covid. This race deserves to grow because of its uniqueness and charm.

This was my first half marathon after completing a few 10 milers. Overall, it was an enjoyable experience despite a challenging race course. For a race that has only been around for 2 years, the organizers have created a really fun event.
Pre Race: Packet pick up was at the local running shop. Super friendly volunteers. My favorite part were the very nice New Balance hoodies that every half participant received.
Race Day: I was told I needed to buy a $5 parking pass in advance only to find that the parking deck at the starting area was open and free. ??? The starting line was well placed at a brand new minor league baseball field. Cool place to take off. The course itself starts out beautiful. The first couple of miles take you through the North Augusta Greenway. The challenges come when you hit two hills around miles 5 & 6. First one is incredibly steep but over quick. The next one is about a 0.5 mile of slow ascent. Overall, it’s definitely a rolling hill course, so plan accordingly in your training. (I did not, so I was hurting afterwards).
Crowd wise, there aren’t a lot of spectators in the first couple of miles. It’s actually pretty quiet. You then run through downtown North Augusta, SC and Augusta, GA towards the end, so you have some good cheering spots in those locations.
Finish line was on the field at the local Minor league baseball team. That was a cool experience. All finishers received a beautifully designed medal and a free beer (you get to keep the nice glass cup too). Solid selections of free snacks and takeaways afterwards.
If you are in the Georgia-South Carolina area and would like to train for a fall half, I’d definitely suggest this race. It’s small, but the local running groups have organized a fun community running event that will hopefully continue to grow in the next few years. Great job Fleet Feet Augusta!

Fleet Feet did a great job on this race. It was cold and rainy, so having the cover of SRP Park while we waited for the start was awesome, as was having real bathrooms! The Greenway was a beautiful place for a run and the trees there kept us from getting completely soaked by the rain. The SWAG consisted of a hoodie from Fleet Feet and a glass beer mug from the Greenjackets, with the race name and logo on them. I much prefer a few nice items than a bag full of junk I will end of tossing. My only complaint… there wasn’t a lot of spectator/volunteer cheering, but that may have been hard to organize due to it being a holiday weekend. I plan to be back next year.
