Amy Amberg's Staging Area

I think this might be the most beautiful course I’ve run, or at least top five. The medal was great, shirt was ok. Shuttle to the start/finish was easy. Lodging was very expensive though, but since I was able cross two states off my list this weekend (Cape Code the day before) I wasn’t too upset. My time was not great but that’s on me because I stopped numerous times to take pics of the ocean and the unreal mansions along the course.

Really liked the medal, t-shirt, and bag they handed out. Race goes right by the Alamo and runs along the Mission trail for a portion of the run, which is really nice. Finish line food looked good, although I didn’t feel up to eating it at the finish. Handed out canned Alamo beer, which was perfect because I could bring it back to the hotel for later in the day! Weather was perfect for running! The expo was tiny, so don’t expect much there. Water stations were decent. At the start of the race it was dark so I missed the porta potties and waited in line forever to use the park restrooms (must have been a common oversight). All in all a great race though and a perfect place for a runcation if you are into history, there is a ton of great things to do in San Antonio while you are there!

Love the medal. I was expecting flat but the hills killed me, I was even passed by a bunch of kids wearing a chinese dragon costume! Race started late because of traffic back up. Course is kind of unremarkable. I heard the finish area is nice but I didn’t stick around to experience it.

Course is really pretty in the fall, a couple of small hills. Nice finish area and a finisher’s shirt I actually wear. Medal was nice although a bit boring.
