There will be various race distance on the beautiful Catherine Valley Trail to choose from including the 18M, a great training run for those gearing up for a fall marathon. Other options available are the Half Marathon distance (part of the Get Fit Half Marathon Series, and 10K and 5K. The trail is an old Rail Trail that is well maintained all year and easy to navigate with a slight elevation gain heading out and a slight elevation decline heading back to the finish line.
Come enjoy the Finger Lakes Region of New York State, take in the fall foliage, enjoy the many wineries and craft beer locations that dominate the region.
Montour Falls is a quaint community located a few minutes drive from the popular destination of Watkins Glen. Shequaga Falls (pronounced She-qua-ga) AKA Montour Falls is a 165-foot tall waterfall located right in the heart of Montour Falls, New York. Shequaga in the Seneca language means “Tumbling Waters”.
From the parking area on South Genesee Street, it’s only a couple hundred feet to the best viewing area for the falls as well as the start/finish of the race event.

This is a trail race, but not like any other trail race I have completed. It was a very smooth and east to navigate course. I was hesitant since it was an out & back, which is not a fav for me, but it was BEAUTIFUL, so glad I got to see it all twice. This course could be messy if there was rain, as the packed ground could turn to mud. The race swag and medals are some of the nicest I have ever received. I enjoyed the packet pickup at the brewery and the food truck at the end was a fun touch. The area is beautiful and lots to do.
