This is a very encouraging race. At the beginning of the race, they have a moment of silence for all those who lost their lives in the Joplin Tornado. Then the first half smile of the race, they have flag set up representing each person who died from the tornado. It’s a little hilly, but a great course. Plenty of encouragement along the way and good water stations.

This race has some of the most beautiful scenery I’ve ever seen. It had snowed the night before so it was very cold, but I warmed up throughout the run. The good thing about running there is the humidity is low so even though it was cold, it didn’t feel too cold. There’s a huge hill at the end that was challenging, but other than that, it’s a flat course.
