This race was canceled (for permitting issues) 2 days prior to when it was supposed to be held with a quick email. There was no further information provided for the cancellation, or refunds, or rescheduling. Despite emailing the race director, and tweeting them twice there was silence! I’ve had races canceled before but these are either rescheduled or refunded (or at the least the race directors contact runners to try to “make things right” somehow). With this race, nothing!! Never will I ever sign up for another race organized by Crucible Racing (and you shouldn’t either)!!

I’ve done this race twice now and have already registered for 2018! I like this race; it is well put on, easy to navigate (e.g., park, get the packet, get to the start line, etc.), and an overall great race. However, the huge hill at the very end of the race is NOT fun! That is definitely a challenging part, but otherwise a great race (saw a deer last time I ran it too).

This was a well-organized race that I look forward to completing again! My only “complaint” was that there was not too much information about the 5k posted online, but this was a minor issue. The wine tasting after was a nice inclusion also (though it would be nice for it to start earlier than it did for those who finished the 5k).
