The trails are beautiful and with varying difficulty. The last five miles at Bryce were brutal, and the last few miles at Horseshoe Bend were soft sand, but despite the rougher spots of the terrain, it was all worth it! The views are amazing, the organization is the same high quality I’ve come to expect from any event with Vacation Races, and being at camp with everyone in the evenings is a great chance to make a lot of friends.

> They evidently stopped taking pictures at the finish line after 4:12, which I found weird because the cut off was 7 hours and they didn’t even wait for the first sweeper to come through

This was my second year running this race, and I even though it requires getting up crazy early, I look forward to doing it again next year. The organization is spot-on, the course is stunning, and the cause is near and dear to my heart. Be prepared to get emotional during the moment of silence at the start line, and throughout the last mile of the course, which is the memory mile. This is hands down my favorite race each year, regardless of how many I run!

This was the opening weekend for this race, and I’m so glad I signed up for it. There were a few hiccups before the race, but that’s to be expected for the first time on a new course, and it sounded like they were working with a lot of new volunteers, as well. The scenery is absolutely beautiful for this course, and if you’re prepared for the constant downhill, you will love this race!

Amazing views, amazing staff and volunteers, and a lot of fun swag and giveaways! Vacation Races always does a great job at making races fun for everyone.
Be aware with this course that there will likely be a traffic jam as you approach Bigfoot and the photographer, even though they’re spread apart. The trail narrows here so there’s no room to pass people and a lot of people may choose to walk due to the terrain or stop to pose for pictures. If you’re looking to PR, make sure you’re as far ahead of large groups as possible before reaching this point in the course!
