This is a great out & back course so you have ready access to your post-race clothes as soon as you cross the finish line. It’s always been warm, OK even hot, but hey, it’s Virginia in the summer! Destination Races does a great job of organizing the race.

A great course, top runners show up for it, super race organization and lots of wine at the finish line (and a little bit along the way)! Can be cold at the start (yes, even in July), so bring some extra clothes which you can check at the start line.

Great start and finish at two different wineries. The opening miles were great and made for a fast time, but the closing ones made up for it. They need to work on road closures as there was a back-up of cars that had to be a mile long – this got fixed the next year. The scenery on this course was great and a large portion of it was shaded. Photo shown is my wife, not me!
