This was my first time running SC. The race was well organized, parking was free the day prior for bib pickup and I also found free street parking on race morning about a mile away, which made for a nice warm up. Cool medal and love the long sleeve shirt, but it was too warm for me to wear it on race day (65 by the end).
The course of often described as pancake flat and I would have to disagree with that. I’d describe it as relatively flat with a small hill ay mile ~3.5m, steady long minor inclines/declines along the PCH (but enough to feel them) and a small hump perhaps around mile 105/11’ish. It’s a little boring along the PCH because you can’t actually see the ocean for a lot of it. Just the parking lot next to it. However,Huntington Beach is absolutely beautiful, race organization was fantastic, swag was great, expo was ok, bib pickup was quick and easy and I already signed up again for next year!
