About Me

  • Running club(s):

    Red Rock Running Company

  • Rave race:

    Los Angeles Marathon

  • Race that's calling my name:

    Atlantic City Marathon

  • I run because:

    It is very therapeutic as running allows me to clear my mind and meditate. Running long distances, especially marathons gives me the confidence to know that I can overcome any obstacle and achieve anything I put my mind to. I run marathons because I like the thrill and sheer joy I experience as I cross finish lines. I like running marathons because I get to view scenery in a way I would never be able to without running a race. Finally, I run because it keeps me physically fit, makes me stronger, and gives me a sense of life purpose.

This was a very well organized race. Race staff at the expo were very supportive and encouraging. This was a Rock and Roll event so music along the course was great and very inspiring. I loved hearing Bruce Springsteen play at the finish line. They offered all runners free french fries at the expo and finish line. The scenery was breathtaking towards last 6 miles of race as you run on beach boardwalk and feel the breeze of the Atlantic Ocean. Runners were full of high energy and received a beautiful medal at the end.

This race was tough because it was on a very hot day, 91 degrees in Las Vegas and began at 8 AM. The course was tough as it was different than the courses I am accustomed to running on. The course was through a trail in the desert and I ran on gravel and sand, which was a bit slippery. The music and encouragement from the race director was very inspiring at the start line. The staff was very supportive throughout the race. The race offered all runners a flower for Mothers Day, a pink shirt, and a beautiful big pink medal. I ended up placing first in the overall race and received a ribbon and am expecting to receive an award in the mail soon.

This is a tough course along many hills, very few aid stations, and no volunteers who physically handed runners water or Gatorade. There was no music or crowds to cheer runners on, and it took mental strength and strong willpower to make it to the finish line. For a very large percentage of time, I ran this race alone and was away from a group of runners. I ended up finishing third place in overall women that completed the race.

This is a beautiful race on a long running trail in the mountains. There were not many volunteers or aid stations along this course, and there was not any music or big crowds to cheer runners on. During a large part of the running course, I ran solo and to run solo it took a great deal of mental strength and personal endurance to reach the finish line. I ended up placing third in the overall race. If you are going to run this race, definitely train on this course or similar courses and run on hills.

Overall the race was good, the volunteers for the most part were helpful, and the expo was fun. The finish line had a physical therapist at the end who helped me stretch and loosen any sore muscles. The race organizer messed up my time and race entry and it took a while to finally get my results posted online. I placed 4th in my age division. There were a number of hills along the course and running this race required mental strength and strong self-motivation as there was very little music and support from the crowds along the way

This race was the best one I participated in the past 10 years I have been running marathons. It was awesome to run through different neighborhoods of Los Angeles. The volunteers and crowd cheering runners on inspired me to push through to the finish line. I initially registered for the half marathon but showed up half an hour hour early and ended up running the full marathon since the course did not have a half marathon finish line. The excitement, music, wonderful aid stations, and encouragement from the crowd inspired me to press on to the finish line in the time of 4:01.

It is a well organized race, the expo was great, and volunteers along the course were very helpful. It was interesting to run past Fashion Island, then run along the beautiful oceanside, run through a trail for a while, and end the race in Costa Mesa. The staff at the finish line were very helpful and supportive in answering my questions.

This is a race every marathoner should participate once. It is a unique race as you start the race in the dark but as soon as daylight hits, you get to run by the ocean and feel the breeze of the ocean cool your body. The race had great music, was very well organized, had aid stations with volunteers who very supportive, and awesome food at the finish line. It was entertaining to see world class elite runners from Kenya and Ethiopia cross the finish line. All runners received a large medal and award after the race.

This was a beautiful mostly flat race course, but was very mentally challenging as the race did not have any music along the course and very little help or support from volunteers. It was a smaller race and there were very few crowds along the course to cheer runners on. This was only my second full marathon in my running career, and with very little training and past experience running marathons, I achieved my personal best time of 3:55. My mental perserverence and endurance is strong, and I don’t let any naysayers come in the way of achieving my dreams and I believe my strength and self-motivation as well as rigid diet plan supported me in completing this race in under 4 hours, where I placed third in my division/age group.

This was my first full marathon that I completed in December 2012. I registered for this race 5 days prior to the race, had no professional training whatsoever except maintained my gym cardio routine for years, and bought a brand new pair of running sneakers from Macy’s two days prior to the race. A friend of mine who regularly runs marathons told me they were running the Honolulu Marathon and I told him I will do it too. With skepticism and disbelief, he told me I would hardly make to mile 6. Many naysayers including family members, colleagues, and friends did not believe I would be able to successfully finish the full marathon and tried to instill fear in me before I began my journey and goal of one day running a full marathon. Despite the naysayers and disbelief I received from practically everyone I knew, I enthusiastically decided to run this race. I knew that my mental strength and strong self-confidence in my abilities to complete any endeavor I chose to take on would indeed help me to succeed in reaching ny goal of one day completing a full marathon. I successfully completed this race in 4 hours 21 minutes, had two blisters that developed towards the end of the race due to improper shoes but still continued to keep running and pressing on. During the race, I felt great as I enjoyed the ocean breeze, met wonderful participants and volunteers who inspired me towards the end. The music and scenery was very inspiring. At the finish line, there was great tasting food and I felt greater than ever in my life. I now knew in the power of the law of attraction to reach goals, I became fitter than ever, and this race confirmed the power of the law of attraction to achieve any goal I set my mind to accomplish.
