The grass, especially where communities recover and bring people together, takes on a new sound. It becomes not only an ecclesiastical, but also a celebration of fellowship. It is expected that whoever does not celebrate Žolinė together will be poor, unhappy, lonely, unsupported in adversity. Therefore, we are organizing this run to invite the running community to celebrate this holiday in a healthy, fun, meaningful and sober way.
The Žoliniai Marathon traditionally takes place in Vingios Park and will run on an officially certified 5.275 km track. Here, everyone will find the right distance for themselves, both professional athletes and those just starting to take their first steps into the world of running. It will be possible to choose one of 6 distances – marathon (42.2km), 31.6km, half-marathon (21.1km), 10.5km, 5.3km (one lap), 600m “family run”.
Each participant, from the smallest to the oldest, will be awarded with the annual statues of the event – one of the symbols of herbal plants. In the first year, it was a traditional Lithuanian plant – hemp, in the second – four-leaf clover, a symbol of happiness, in the third – thistle, and this year it will be one of the herbs.

The course is a 5.3km loop through Vingas park in Vilnius, Lithuania. You can run 1, 2, 4, 6 or 8 loops, corresponding to 1/8, 1/4, 1/2, 3/4 or full marathon. The course distance is certified.
About 300 participants in 2022. Start and finish area are near a big open air venue, so there is plenty of space. The course is on paved surfaces underneath a beautiful pine, fir and birch forest. The course is well marked, but shared with others in the park. Flat and fast course. Water every 2.5km. Chip timing. Inexpensive race – from 4 -20 Euros, depending on when you register. Commemorative shirt is 15 euro extra.
