The Wildcat 100 Ultramarathon will take place at the Escambia County Equestrian Center, a 178-acre park in Pensacola, Florida over Labor Day weekend.
Why Wildcat?
• Ideal “first” 100-mile or 100K: A repeatable 2.5-mile loop of mostly grass and dirt with minimal elevation gain/loss helps you lock into a rhythm, see your crew often, and manage nutrition and pacing with confidence.
• Proven course pedigree: This loop has hosted the FHSAA Cross Country 2A District and Regional Championships, Gulf Coast Stampede, and Esca-Rosa Panhandle Championships—fast footing, clean turns, and clear markings.
• Community and support: The loop format creates a festival atmosphere—consistent access to your gear, frequent check-ins with volunteers, and encouragement every lap.
What to expect:
• Terrain: Primarily grass and hard-packed dirt with gentle rollers; no technical sections.
• Weather: The Florida Panhandle is hot and humid this time of year—train and race with heat in mind.
• Logistics: Easy crew access and a centralized staging area make planning simple for runners and supporters alike.

This race is very low key, everyone’s friendly and helpful, the course is mostly flat and easy to navigate, plenty of parking and restrooms,RV spaces, inexpensive, but brutally hot and humid. I’ve done this race three times so far- first time I made it,2nd two I didn’t. I’ll be there again next year trying to improve on my first year’s time without crashing and burning. I’m a back of the packer at best. This is the only hundred miler that gives someone like me even the slightest chance of making the cutoff time- 40 hours. You won’t find a more generous time anywhere that’s flat. It’s a fun experience.
Nice,easy going,friendly race

This is the most doable 100 miler of any that I could find anywhere three years ago,and I’m so glad I did find it. It is perfect for someone like me who is older, not fast(walk/jog), can’t afford a lot, doesn’t want to get lost or be too far from an aid station, and is relatively new to ultras. This race gives the most generous cut off time of any I’ve seen- 40 hours! If you can walk, you can do this. The only big hurdle is surviving the heat. Everyone is friendly, helpful, and supportive. I highly recommend this race, especially for beginners.
Great race, fantastic support
Organization and aid station are top notch. I love a looped course and this is nice and smooth. The heat is a challenge! I keep coming back for this one. MORE
