The RD, Big Baz, is gregarious and engaging. The course is well-marked, though, in spots I started to lose confidence that I was on the course still (and then I saw a ribbon). Limited aid (but I do understand that it is a 21K (almost a half marathon, not quite)) makes for a struggle, especially up Horsethief Trail (about 2800′ gain in 3 miles or so). No shirt or swag… unless you do a certain number of races in the series, but there is beer and some nice snacks at the finish line… and the results get posted pretty rapidly for a race that eschews chip timing.

The RD, Big Baz, is gregarious and engaging. The course is well-marked, though, in spots I started to lose confidence that I was on the course still (and then I saw a ribbon).
