One of Canada’s most scenic run courses is in the Coast Mountains of British Columbia. Whistler is a destination that ranks at the top of many an adventurers places to visit and our event is but one way to experience Whistler – to RUN Whistler. We promise an event that is world class and pristine – one that matches our natural surroundings. Clean air, towering glacier capped mountain peaks, lush forests, and glistening lakes all combine to create courses that are breathtaking, in a good way. Register today!
The scenic 21.1km Whistler Half Marathon course is designed to showcase all that Whistler is – an amazing town nestled in the coast mountains of BC. With towering glacier capped mountains as the backdrop, it is no wonder that Whistler’s only half marathon has made it to the “must do” list for distance runners from across North America.
The new 30km Lost Lake Challenge course combines our half marathon course with an additional 8.9KM of amazing non technical trail running on the crushed gravel surface of the Tin Pants trail network in Lost Lake Park. This route will challenge the seasoned marathon runner as well as provide an opportunity for the runner looking to “bridge the gap” between the half marathon and full marathon distance. The course will be open until noon.
At just shy of half of a half marathon, the 10km course is no less spectacular nor the experience any less exciting. The 10km course, like the half marathon course, is breathtaking – in a good way and great for runners looking for their first longer distance event, or for more experienced athletes training for longer distances to get some “race training” in.
Perfect for runners aged 10-99, the 5km distance is great for competitive runners, new runners, youth, or anyone just looking to add to a healthy living lifestyle. A flat and fast course will be on offer, and just like our other distances the scenery and mountain backdrop will be stunning; breathtaking – in a good way. The course is well designed for all athletes; with runner experience and safety top of mind.

The weather was perfect for the day. There were about 600+ runners headed out from the village out towards the trails. I recommend doing some hill prep for this race. You do a lot of short track trails and it does climb a bit. I enjoyed it, she’s and back of my legs covered in mud. The post race food was a delight, not only the usual stuff but fresh bread, and cookies as well as grilled cheese sandwiches and coffee. Got like the Smartwool socks as well as the unique medal.
Great location; so-so race production

Love Whistler and like this course a lot. A nice mix of road, paved trail, and gravel trail. Great scenery and even a run through the village at one point. Pre-race events are pretty weak, especially vendor booths. Post race is really chaotic because they cram the runners in an amazingly small space for food, water and coffee. This year the water was in a spot where everybody was bunched up and once you got water you had to turn around and fight through a crowd of people trying to get water. Who thinks up these plans? I have run 2 years in a row and the biggest disappointment both years is the race shirts. They suck. Last year the men’s shirt was a weird, blocky fitting shirt that was a rough knit. A couple miles in that and nipples are on fire! This year there was this giant ugly zebra design on the front including a big circle the size of a dinner plate in the middle. It was a rubberized screen print that —you guessed it!—lights up your nipples when you run. And, the rubber really causes extra sweat. It is a really feminine design too – clearly designed by a female. Medals are ok – nothing fancy, but not cheap either. So, if you don’t mind throwing away your shirt like I have for the last couple of years, or lacking delight in pre-race or post-race stuff, it’s a nice course in a terrific location. At least you can find a good burger and beer at numerous restaurants after the run.
