The location is unique: you see multiple Khmer temples on your run. Siem Reap (the second largest city in Cambodia) is a famous vacation destination on its own.
You also run through small local villages (sometimes literally through people’s backyards) which is very interesting as well.
The surface is a mix of everything: some pavement, some concrete, some dirt single track, some sand.
It’s dry season and the trail wasn’t muddy at all for us, but I guess it could’ve been very different with more water.
I did have to run in the ludo of dust at times and there were quite a bit of soft send which made it more challenging.
We started at 4am and it was humid, but cool for a while. The longer you run, the hotter it gets.
I did appreciate the halfway station with the noodle soup.
Cambodia is a great destination for tourists and this race is a good excuse to visit the country.
