The Out There Running Company is 3 women who met while running trails on Long Island. Somewhere between the shared miles and endless conversations in the woods, The Witching Hours was born. We wanted to create space for new trail runners of all backgrounds and skill levels. We have found that there’s something transformative about the trails and we want you to experience that in a space that feels safe, supportive, and a little enchanted. Whether you’re chasing a distance PR, dipping your toes into your first trail event, or just craving a day in the woods with good people and lots of snacks, you will feel welcome at our race!
The race will take place on the trails at Manorville Hills, one of Long Island’s most unique and expansive trail systems. With 3-hour, 6-hour, and 12-hour options, The Witching Hours invites you to run, hike, or meander along a 5K loop featuring long pine corridors, soft needle-covered paths, and past an iconic wooden teepee that feels like something out of a fairytale. The course is runnable and beginner-friendly, but with approximately 270 feet of elevation gain per loop, still enough of a challenge to keep seasoned runners intrigued.
What to expect:
• A 5K loop with ~270 ft gain, winding through pines and rolling hills
• 1 well-stocked aid station with lots of tasty treats at start/finish of loop
• Come-as-you-are community vibes—walkers, newbies, and experienced runners are all welcome
• Choice of shirt size and finisher medals guaranteed for everyone who signs up by the cut off. After that it will be on a first come first serve basis
• A large covered area will be provided for runners to leave their belongings, no individual tents allowed
• A touch of trail magic to keep your spirits high
A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Long Island Greenbelt Trail Conference.

This was the first race put on by Out There Running Company and it was well done. There is a 3 hour, 6 hour or 12 hour option running a tough, hilly 5K course in the trails of Manorville, NY (Long Island).
They had one aid station at the Start/Finish area that was fully stocked with sandwiches, candy, chips, pretzels, and as the day went on, they provided hot foods such as Penne, Meatballs, and Grilled Cheese plus they provided vegan and gluten free options.
They had a DJ playing music and every time you ran through the finish area you were greeted with an applause/cheering section.
The course is a tough hilly course and by the time the 6 hour runners are done, it could get kind of lonely, especially at night.
Overall, this was an enjoyable Ultramarathon race and I look forward to seeing what comes next from this group.
