There were only porta potties at the race start/ finish. I did not like how they were right there next to everyone/ everything. The upside was there was only a bit over a 3 mile loop to be completed 8 times, so basically a restroom every 3 miles. The weather was incredibly wild at the beginning of this race which made everything interesting. It was a freak storm but a big one. With all the lightning I thought it would get cancelled/ delayed. So I didn’t start at 5 am (we were given the option to start at 5 or 6 due to the heat advisory.) Because of the weather I waited until the pack came around the first time so started between 5 and 6. This means my official race time is 30 minutes off of my garmin and actual time. I’m ok with it. The medal and shirt were high quality. I like the orange the shirt is and its a good quality.
The big positive from this race is the organizers/ participants. The local run club must be amazing. I really enjoyed visiting with some world marathoners along the course and everyone was very encouraging. They made sure to have lots of water and gatorade, etc. available at the start and 1/2 way around the course, so about every mile and a half which got necessary as the temp climbed. This was a good race overall for such a small one and I recommend it to someone trying to PR.
Flat, easy course

Day before pick up at race hotel.. The bib worked for all three days which is great. The RD, I know personally and she puts on a great race. So about being the new kid… with only 30 some marathons I was the least experienced runner. These guys are mostly over 300 marathons. The whole idea is to get together as a group and run, run/walk marathons. They are all out there just to finish…. spending lots of time talking on what is going on in their families. I would say this is more of a meeting of runners with running on the side. Very enjoyable and low stress.
