This race was HILLY! I am not talking about rolling hills either, they are hills. Coming from So Cal, I am not used to hills as I run at the beach so this course for me was very difficult. The weather was HOT HOT HOT as well. Those 2 together made it very hard for me to perform well. However, despite the the weather and hills I still had a great time. The scenery was so pretty. I loved the wine festival after the race as well. They had great pours and the wineries were all so friendly.

I thought the scenery was GREAT. I love the medal! One of my favorites. Shirt was ok. Having wine after was also great.
Things to know: They could’ve used a couple more aide stations. And one time it was like drinking out of the hose. So maybe bring your own stuff.
And, it got hot. Even though it was early in the day, and late November, still got warm. Be prepared.

The last of the 1/2 marathons this year there was a true esprit de corps. Many of the runners seemed to have run other races. The race organization was flawless; the aid stations were well distributed. As were the hills. The race ends with a wine event which is not as appealing at 0900 after running 13 miles but nice for families.

The course is a loop, with a couple miles of incline right smack dab in the middle. But that challenge makes it all the more enjoyable. The aid stations were spaced out well, and the nice weather made for a great race day. But don’t take it lightly, hill training is encouraged to be able to complete this race in decent time.

Hilly course but not too much. I was surprised by the small hill at the very end just before the finish – brutal. Wine tasting was a fun way to celebrate and the finishing medal was substantial and had a wine opener attached. I’d request keeping expo open later than 6pm. We drove from LA and were on the road for over 4 hours in bad traffic missing the expo by half an hour. Luckily knew someone in town that could pick up our packets. I imagine a lot of people travel from out of town and had the same problem.

This was the toughest half marathon I have done yet. The course was beautiful as well as challenging. Coming all the way from Cincinnati, Oh to take on this race and not let down one bit. The support staff and after party were top notch, I have zero complaints. Destination races did an excellent job of assisting me with my plans to propose to my girlfriend at the finish line. I couldn’t think of a better environment to ask for her hand. This race was amazing!

I must say I really had a great time running this half marathon, the location was absolutely amazing, the finish was awesome and it was a very well put together race. I definitely wish I’d done a bit more hill training in preparation as I was not prepared for the miles of hills in the second half. Overall, I loved the race and will definitely run it again.

This is a smaller race, which I really enjoyed. There will be no waiting an hour for your corral to be released, like at Rock N’ Roll event. The course was very challenging (think hills on hills on hills), but incredibly beautiful! This course takes you through Temecula’s wineries, and many of the names you see on the course do tastings at the finish festival! There are many aid stations with water, electrolytes, and different types of fuel. The festival at the end was a huge hit, and we really enjoyed wine tasting in the wine glass we earned! I would highly recommend this race to any runner who is not afraid of hills and likes a challenge.

Very nice race, well organized and great winery locations. Several aid stations on course. Unique finishers medal. Parking and shuttles are well timed and easy to use. After party is lively with several wineries to sample from. And the booths set up at the after party are generous with free give aways. Only thing I would change is to add more food options for all of the finishers after the race.

The course is beautiful and peaceful, but much more difficult than last year, with so many more hills (and I train in the hills!). The course was reversed from 2014 and the last mile or so was on difficult, rutted (from a tractor?), hard-packed dirt and then on soft dirt. It ended running through a vineyard (which was cool), and then up, up, up to the finish line! The support and volunteers were wonderful and the bling is one of my favorites. I love the Wine and Music Festival at the end – lots of vendors – the energy is upbeat and everyone is celebrating. I hope the course is again changed for next year because I would love to run the race again. If it doesn’t change, I won’t be back. There are too many l-o-n-g hills, right up to the finish line.
