Easy packed pick up, loved the ease of parking, and the scenery on the course. I started late I was jet lagged and the race timing company and director were amazing.
Lots of support on the course, cheer stations and the local first responders were OUTSTANDING!! I felt like I was on a beautiful long run which I loved. It was crazy hot but that’s because of the tropical storm. The medal was super cute.

Race shirt was generic thin long sleeve, should have gotten a smaller size, they had bananas, sweet tea and some cubed sour dough bread (kinda slim pickings after a race this hot). No ice for the tea, no beer after either which was interesting. It would be nice if there was a poster or something to take a picture with at the end but there wasn’t any. Also, lots of turns and curves so had to pt attention lol

If you like a small town feel, cute shops, decorated for Christmas, low crowds then this is for you! I loved it.

Great shirt as it had no list of sponsors on the back- long sleeve with collar and zipper, nice medal, great volunteer on course so you could not get lost . Water and Gatorade on the course . Scenic course with easy slight hills but I had problems with the humidity.

Summerville’s Sweet Tea Half Marathon is in its third year. While the overall number of runners was down this year, this surely isn’t a result of organization on the race’s part. Likely the $90 price tag scared of the thriftier runners. For that price, runners received a long sleeved soft technical tee, and a course with pleasant scenery (not unlike what many of us see on training runs around town), a post-race beer, and a great shot at placing in one’s age group. The race begins and ends in scenic downtown Summerville, with the middle of the course running on the Sawmill Branch Trail and through some local subdivisions. Friendly and vocal volunteers manned every intersection, so there was no chance of anyone taking a wrong turn. For locals and for those who (like us) feel its worth it to spend some money even on a small, local race, there is no reason not to run the Summerville Sweet Tea Half Marathon. This was 2nd year of this race in my town, so it was only 5 minutes from the house. Flat the first 9 miles, last 4 is a steady incline up about 100′. There was some slight improvements from last year. Not much of an expo. Nice medal. Repeat runner of this race.
