The year I did this race it was held at Lilydale Park in St Paul next to the Mississippi River. The course was nicely shaded but was a bit congested. It was very flat and I did get a 5K PR. I’ve done a few races with this company and they always have cotton, low budget shirts that I am not a fan off. But the medals are nice and usually have a nice design. I don’t recall any post-race snacks but they did have a Kona snow cone truck and this was the best treat I’ve had at a race. I much preferred this over the ice cream truck they had at a different race.
My biggest complaints were there were not enough porta potties at the start. There were tons of people still standing in line when the race started. I did contact the company at the time and instead of just saying something like “thanks for the feedback” they just said they order a certain number based on the number of runners. So I took this to mean they didn’t really care about my feedback. Other main issue was the parking lot was small and people were parked in random places and just walking up and down the main streets.
Overall: It’s a budget race and if you sign up when the price is cheap it’s a good deal.
