The Sweetest Half in Texas! The Houston Methodist Sugar Land Half Marathon & 10K offers tons of easy parking, a convenient start/finish line, and a post-race celebration for the entire family. The course is a single loop with almost all right turns, and it’s widely regarded as one of the most beautiful courses in the Houston Area. The course is mostly flat and fast with a plentiful amount of fully stocked hydration/cheer stations along the way to energize you all morning long. Upon reaching the finish line, you’ll receive a one-of-a-kind medal and enjoy delicious food, music, awards, and an overall amazing experience! Sign up today to join in the fun!
This year, both race distances feature a true loop course with no out-and-back sections. By extending the loop earlier along Austin Parkway, we eliminated the former out-and-back on Commonwealth (half distance) and created a more fluid, uninterrupted race experience from start to finish. The run into the finish has also been redesigned, removing the run around the parking lot and bringing runners in from behind the building for a clean, direct finish. As a result, the previous out-and-back on the north end of the parking lot for 10K runners (at the beginning) is gone as well. Best of all, with the new finish line route, once the race begins, all parking remains fully accessible. No one is blocked in, making entry and exit quicker and easier.

Easy to follow, safe course. A nice collection of pacers for the half marathon. Good aid stations. Some have more than just water and Gatorade. Portapotties on the course. They have good Safety people (someone nearby tripped with a bleeding head wound … they patched him up and I saw him at the finish), though we always hope to not need them. Their long sleeve shirts are nice. Pizza at the finish though they’ll likely run out of beer for the back 1/4 of the race.
