Located midway between San Francisco and Los Angeles, San Luis Obispo County, or SLO CAL, offers an awesome blend of earth, sea, art and agriculture. Early California history and contemporary art mix here, and you’ll be able to see this stunning area for yourself when you hit this course.
Santa Margarita Ranch is full of classic Central Coast scenery, with rolling grassy hills, wide open cow pastures, and oak-line arroyos winding throughout the venue. While it might not appear mountainous and technical at first glance, the hills here are deceptively steep and long, your footing will often be unsure, and whatever rhythm you find is sure to be broken by the constantly changing terrain.
Make sure to stick around after the race to sample some of the local wine made from grapes grown right on the course!
Hills, scenery, and a lot of FUN!
Overall great course! Marked really well and ended up being a little longer then the 10K distance at 7 miles but I thought it was a great course! MORE
