Experience the magic of night trail running at the Sinister Night Runs. Part of the Insomniac Series, journey through rolling terrain and majestic saguaro cacti beneath a starlit sky. Carpe Noctem – seize the night!
The event is held on a rolling and runnable loop at San Tan Mountain Regional Park. This is a perfect beginner night trail race with distances for all. Run past towering saguaro cactus under the night stars.
All races are held on a 9 kilometer loop of the San Tan, Hedgehog & Littleleaf Trails. The 27K runners will complete 3 loops, 18K is two loops, while the 54K ultra division will complete 6 loops, passing through the /finish line after each lap! The course features a mix of smooth runnable trails with just a few rollers and rocks for fun. Our new 6 Km course will utilize Littleleaf, San Tan and will cut back on Moonlight to the finish.

We had about 50 in this race, maybe 150 with all 5 races. Food was good, they still don’t have cups, :(, Course is a nice one, music was good, They still give out really cheap glass ware as swag, it breaks very easily, or a wooden medal if they don’t run out. Option hat or shirt. Local run for the most part, family spectators are there, good support. The attached photo was the sunset last night.
