This race, is like no other race. This is our second year completing the Paso Robles Silver Moon and from the start, it felt like a family reunion. The race coordinators remembered us from last year, and we ran with people from the year before as well. It was wonderful to see familiar faces, see friends set and crush new goals. The on site camping also allows for even more fun as people share food each lap. Every time we’ve done this race, the race directors, have a coordinated, and beautiful event. The event starts on time, and Josh parties with everyone taking free photos well after midnight. We will be attending the family reunion every year we are capable and recommend you do as well!

First of all, the organizers did a great job. They have many years of experience putting on running events, and they do a superb job.
This was my first event where I registered for time rather than a set distance. I am training for another Ultra in April, and wanted to use this time-limit event as a shake-out run, to test my clothes, nutrition, hydration, shoes and sock, and mental stamina, as well as my ability to stay on my feet for a long, long time. This was the perfect format, and I accomplished my fist 50k. Knowing that you can stop once you have accomplished your goal (if it happens before the time you signed up for) and not get a DNF makes this a wonderful format for a shakeout.
The aid station at the turning point was very handy. I sampled the coffee a few times, and the eggs. I don’t generally eat a lot of solid foods when I do long distances, but this did come in handy. I would suggest that they have PB&J sandwiches next time.
A big hoot-out for this year’s race shirt. The owl design is excellent.
I highly recommend this race for anyone wanting to accomplish a running goal without the competitive pressure of placings allows one to concentrate on the goal and not on the other runners.

This is the third Silver Moon race I’ve participated in. In 2022 I paced a friend 20 of her 32 miles at Ridley.
In 2023, I participated in the rain Paso Robles race. I only logged 16 miles but I was hooked on the course.
In 2024, I walked 30 miles. The people and support make this race. There is non-stop food at the start/finish line. I will be back in 2025.

This was my first time running over 26.2, The idea of running a 2 mile loop was bitter sweet. The bitter soon faded. You’re able to learn the course, see pace break down easily, never more than a mile away from camp or the aid station. Plenty of delicious fuel was provided, motivation from spectators and runners. Camping had convenient access to the course so you’re not adding much extra distance. The minimal Hazards were well marked at night and the hard pack dirt road was decently maintained. Thank you volunteers photographers and organizers and gracious host. See yall on the trail

This race did not disappoint and lived up to the hype. You get to run under the full silver moon over a 6, 12, or 24 hour period but if you like you can also run 10k, 50m, or 100 miles and choose between solo or relay format; they even offer a wine walk for the families and spectators supporting the runners. This race really has a lot to offer.
The race swag, medal and shirt are stylish and we’re designed by the very creative race directors.
The course is a 2 mile loop located in Cass Winery and is a fast mainly flat which means you can PR.
The aid stations are some of the best aid stations I have been part of, the race directors care about the runners and insure that we all have the needed hydration and nutrients to keep running all night.
I would highly recommend this race to anyone looking to have a fun time!

Top notch aid station and volunteers. Loop is 2 miles. Lots of options for advanced or first time trail racers. This is a husband and wife owned race and they run it really well. You can tell that they care a lot about the sport and the community that they are cultivating. Everyone from volunteers to participants are always super amazing to spend an insane amount of hours at night with.
I feel like this is really great for first timers, because the course is only 2 miles long, and the aid station is really well stocked the way it should be all through the night. I feel like this is a really accessible race for a lot of people and very friendly.

I attempted my first 100 miler here and finished !
It is a 2 mile loop, 50 times, and I ended up with elevation gain just shy of 8000 feet. The first time they’ve done this race in Feb, and it was nice because it was not scorching hot. Plenty of places to camp and set up aide stations, and the race itself has an amazing aid station at the start/finish with all sorts of food that change throughout the day.
The race director is super nice, so responsive, and at the end of the race turned into one of the biggest cheerleaders. A small race with a community with huge hearts. I loved this race, its organization, and the swag is out of this world. I have maybe 100 medals, but the 2004 medal is definitely the nicest ever. I can’t wait to do this again. Thank you for the greatest memories for my biggest athletic accomplishment.

A fake hip and bad back prevent me from carrying water weight comfortably, so I would never be able to accomplish a point-to-point 50-mile race. A 2-mile loop event with the ability to have a base camp was what provided me the opportunity to achieve this 50-mile goal. Add to that a perfect setting, great people, more food options than one could wish for, a bottle of wine at the Finish Line, and race swag that rates a 10+++…..and you have yourself the perfect race.
I’ve been signing up for races since 1989. Nobody puts on races with as personal a feel as New Global Adventures…aka Terry and Jenny. Kudos!

I rolled my left ankle and really messed it up so I wasn’t able to train until 5 weeks before the race and decided id just go for it and see what happens. 34 miles logged! Ha! Way more than I thought I could do. This race is perfect to train yourself on running through the night. This is also the perfect tune up race for testing new gear, new nutrition, new distances etc. Everyone is so nice, the food at the aide station was perfect. Definitely my go back to race I think every year that I can do it. This was my third time. First was 6 hr, then 24 hr relay, this year 12 hr. Next year I’m going to do 12 hr again and shoot for first place female! I know I can do it. Then maybe, if I feel crazy enough, shoot for 24 hr and 100 miles down the road. Why not?! Lovely vineyard and the central coast is amazing to visit if you aren’t from the area. I live here, so I get to be around the beauty all the time.

Not going to lie, I am not a fan of running any loop. BUT this was the perfect event for my husband to give a go at his first 100-mile race and an opportunity for my family and I to participate in more than just spectating! Even my in-laws were able to do the wine walk. We enjoyed being able to camp on the course and be able to cheer him on every time he came around (or easily run with him to keep him motivated!).
The event staff was amazing and I was blown away by all the food and other items at the aid station. It was a little more hilly than I like but I live in an area with no hills so I am just not used to it.
My only complaint was when you finished a race no one really checked you out to make sure you were OK. Again, this is our first 100-mile event but I thought maybe there would be a medical aid who made sure you were doing OK. But that aside, well done! AND NOTHING BEATS WINE AS A FINISHING PRIZE! Medals were gorgeous as well.

I was nervous jumping up to 12 hours but everyone made it a great experience. I really enjoyed the positive atmosphere and the shirts this year are so amazing. I will wear it with pride.
The volunteers are so kind and helpful.
Silvermoon has the best aide station food. Oh my goodness, so many choices. I recommend the homemade egg rolls.
You can tell the race directors really care about the runners. They go above and beyond.
The venue is beautiful, situated in a vineyard surrounded by rolling hills.
The course is nicely marked and easy to navigate.
Bonus is the camping onsite. So nice seeing families enjoying themselves and supporting the runners.
