It rained the majority of the race and made the course a muddy and slippery mess, making it not runnable in sections. The finisher’s medal is by far the coolest one I have gotten. Overall can’t wait to do it again next year, hopefully with less rain and mud!

I love this race! The race directors are amazing, the volunteers are too. The course is beautiful, and if you want you can hit the winery after for wine and food. The race always has plenty of snacks, full meals for runners and great swag. I have to run this race EVERY YEAR.
This year was particularly difficult because of the weather. It rained more than it didn’t, it was cold and the course was INCREDIBLY Muddy. With all that said, it just made it more interesting. STILL loved this race.
It was really fun! Cold & wet, but fun!
Be prepared for dark (headlamp), cold (layers) and wet (rain jacket) Bring an adventurous spirit! I want to do it next year and bring some friends! MORE

Excellent venue with beautiful views. It just so happened the rains came and made the track a muddy mess. No fault of the production’s, but made it impossible to run the entire race without some walking. Food was great, even catered breakfast from Cass Winery. Finisher’s metal was very nice, but the T-Shirt was not so nice. Overall can’t wait to do it again next year, hopefully with less rain.

I love this race. It doesn’t matter what distance you run, is guaranteed you ll have an awesome experience. Race directors, crew and volunteers always makes you feel welcome. Very well organized, well stock aid station for day and night and swag of the best quality. Also Family friendly. The only thing I will recommend is to have a big screen at the timing table, so every runner can see the name and mileage.

Other than it was really, really, really hot, it was a great experience. This was my first set time experience and even though I didn’t get in the miles I’d hoped for, I still logged almost double the miles I’d done prior. Aid station support was fantastic. Camping right on the course was very helpful. And, my German Shepherd Juliet was able to join me during the night. She had a blast. We traveled from out of state so the drive wasn’t fantastic. But, certainly worth it. Hope to see you next year.

If you are wanting to challenge yourself physically and mentally and push your boundaries as a runner this is the perfect race for you. Whether you want to go 6 hours 12 hours 24 hours or 100 miles. There’s a challenge for every single person which is wonderful. I did the 6-hour last year which is very humbling. This year I did the 24-hour relay with three other women I totaled 38 miles for myself, our team collected 106 miles in 24 hours! Wonderful experience! The race director was great, food was great, people were great, and environment was great. Highly recommend.

Beautiful course although I wouldn’t call it “easy” as there was almost no shade and it got hot. Need to have more than three bathrooms- one near every corner and every camping area plus at least 6 at the start area all with washing stations. Move leader board to timing mat area in front of aid station instead of adding distance going behind aid station every lap- that extra distance added up and usually didn’t use aid station. Race director was cheerful and on course all race. Venue owner was on site too. The misting station helped a lot with the heat. Pretty dusty the first six hours with more relay racers on course but great energy out there all night and day. We’ll be back!

This race location is wonderful. Paso Robles wine country is beautiful, owners seem to be laid back and wine is tasty! The race itself was safe from getting hit by cars as it was inside a fence on the dirt farm/winery perimeter road. There was quite a few downhills which did add up lap after lap and put some stress on knees and hip flexors. There is something special about running while watching the sunset, the stars come out looking like a planetarium, the moon make an appearance and the sunrise again! The volunteers were friendly and they offered cookies, chips, soup, noodles, little sandwiches, pickles, bread, coffee, egg rolls and more. Not all offered at once, but food would be constantly updated and replenished. The medal was huge and artwork/design astonishing! The race photos were FREE, full resolution and the best I’ve ever received. This is a must do race! I don’t normally do the same race twice and I’m considering repeating this one.

Ran out of race swag too early
On the positive side, the food/ water was plentiful and enjoyed hot fresh coffee. The winery was the most picturesque place and besides the mid day heat it was perfect weather.

Other than where the finish/start is, there is zero shade in this race. Be ready for heat and a lot of dust. The evening start was great as this is when you should get most of your miles in as the sun is unforgiving during the day. Highly recommend taking a power nap before race start.
Race was well stocked with ice, water, food, etc.
Race is advertised as flat. It’s more like false flats and rolling hills. Nothing too technical but there is elevation involved after multiple loops.
I also recommend staying at the Geneseo Inn. It’s not cheap but with how close it is to the race you can’t beat the convenience of a place and private toilet to use that’s only a few footsteps away. Only porta potties for the race.

I had a great time! The staff and volunteers were excellent (enthusiastic, encouraging, friendly, accomodating) even the race director was personally thanking people individually for coming out and participating. The course was smooth with just enough elevation change to make the mile loop interesting. Will be back next year for possibly my first 100 mile attempt.
