How can you go wrong with Santa Barbara on the 4th of July? Great course on asphalt trails. Well marked, water statiions every 3mi. Spectaular scenery. Mostly flat with a couple of gradual hills – nothing really tough. The race is managed by the Santa Barabar Athletic Assoc. and they have it down. There is NO chip timing but they were spot on with the time for myself and the two others from A Snail’s Pace who made the drive from Orange Co. It is a small race – 176 runnners in 2016. It is part of the USATF Southern California Grand Prix. It is also the 2nd Oldest race on the West Coast. This is on my to-do for every 4th of July from here on out.
This is a must do every year!
