This is one of the only holiday/Christmas themed half marathons that happen in Northern California so it is a must for me.
This was my 4th time running it in Roseville, having done it twice in Arizona before it came out to California. It’s gone down a little bit in festive quality (I remember the first races having aid stations full of candy, cookies and marshmallows), which may be disappointing to some. The medal this year was also quite a bit smaller and less exciting than in previous years, but still a nice medal and it came with a little pin you can clip to the ribbon for the distance you ran. The shirt was the best part of the swag; although it was unisex, it was a Headsweats tech shirt, in a beautiful fun Christmas design.
The course in Roseville is nice enough, an out and back along a bike path, where at some points you run along a river. Not much on-course cheering support, but some pretty scenery to enjoy. Mostly flat.
I will very likely make this an annual half marathon I do. It’s FUN. Everyone dresses up and enjoys all the props and blow ups for pictures.

This is our second year running this race. If you are a super serious runner, this may not be the race for you, but for a beginner who run/walks, it’s a great way to get out, move my body and have fun while doing it. Things I love: super friendly and festive crowd, fairly flat course on well paved road, fantastic swag. This year there was rain the day before the race and I think that impacted race set up a little. There was no musicians on the course and the snack stations were all at the end under tents near the finish line. The course itself winds through a neighborhood and follows train tracks. I missed the boosts of cheer that the stations and musicians brought the year before.

This is my 5th time attending this event. It’s become an annual tradition for me and my twin sister. I really think the event planners do an AWESOME job putting this together. From the website and registration. To packet pick up. The swag is always a great quality. The day of event just puts a smile on everyone’s face. The amount of volunteers, the snack stations, the music, the funny signs along the way, the scenery is always a plus and the emcee gets everyone hyped up. It is really the most wonderful time of the year when the Santa Hustle comes to Roseville California!!!

Great race for folks with varying fitness and speed levels. Perf for me and my “run for fun” mentality. Kids and I enjoyed it – especially the candy and cookie stations! Folks were dressed up and in the holiday spirit, lots of families walking together. Maybe not a great race if you are super serious, but if you want to have a good time and be outside moving your body, would highly recommend.

Optional long sleeve tech shirt as an add on was also nice. Very cute finishers snow globe medal too! Will definitely do again in the future!
