Holiday themed race. The event was well supported, and the organization this year wasn't as well as in previous years. The wish there was more cookies and candies along the … MORE
Holiday themed race. The event was well supported, and the organization this year wasn’t as well as in previous years. The wish there was more cookies and candies along the race route…. but these snacks were only available close to the start/finish area and were individually wrapped. Santa and Ms. Claus costumes available during registration.

Great race for holiday fun. The Event was well organized and supported. The elf volunteers were jolly and happy. The only wish was for more cookies and candies along the race route…. but certainly understand Covid still impacts all race events somehow. Overall, this is a do again race event.

Santa came to town and we hustled through the parking lot, the canal and street ways to catch up with him! The production was on point. The holiday festivities were in the air. Holiday music blasting in the background. Packet pick up was smooth. You get your bib and head to another tent to pick up your swag. The Startline and Finish were at the same location. There was plenty of parking since it’s at the mall. I like the fact that some of the streets were closed off. But I dare say that running through the parking lot for the first 1/2 mile did not sit well with me. It’s a road race. As a runner, I feel cheated when I have to cut through a parking lot because scenery is crucial to keep the runner’s mind engaged. Also, cookies were being handed out less than a quarter-mile after the start. Wait a minute…I’m just not quite ready to munch on cookies when my breathing is not even steady yet. The route is not the most scenic. We ran the canal twice. First, we pushed our way to mile 9 and then we run it back to the finish line. Oh, expect hills, hills, hills! There’s a couple each way. They don’t look intimidating but you feel them. The finish line threw me off because I did not see the medal handlers ahead. So, for a quick second, I felt like I was going the wrong way.
Your medal is handed to you after you crossed the finish line and walk around to the outside of the course. Overall, it’s a good race packed with holiday spirit-filled runners. It’s worth it to run it at least one time. So, go do the hustle!
