This was a fun race, part of the Giant Race series that takes place in several venues (Scottsdale, Sacramento, San Jose and San Francisco). This is the first time I have participated. Lots of Giants fans at the race, so great spirit at the start line. Course was flat and not the most scenic, but it did take you through parts of Happy Hollow park which for me brought back some fun memories. Cute medal shaped like a Giants jersey. I’ll probably do the San Francisco one for fun as well.
Fun race atmosphere, boring course

Running through city streets isn’t my idea of a scenic course, but it was a fun race, great atmosphere & fun post-race expo (thanks, Sharks, for the playoff shirt!). Didn’t like that the race timing is not chip timing. My “official” time was almost three minutes longer than my actual.

This years race was similar to the previous 4 years. The only difference was at the end of the race. They didn’t have water as you crossed the finish line. You had to walk across the outfield to get it. Also, in the past they have had bagels, fruit and other food available. This year they had a small bag of fruit snacks and a bottle of chocolate milk. The run was fine, but the after party was very disappointing.

The course isn’t great. It is mostly run on the road surrounding the SJ Giants Stadium. However it is very well organized and the crowd is great, which makes for a really fun run. Every runner is given a ticket to go and watch a game either the night before or night of the race. You finish right on the field and each year they have the World Series trophies set up so you can take pictures with the trophies. I would recommend this race to anyone looking for a fun, local, run. They offer a 5k and 5mile run.
