A Fall Trail Running & Camping Experience for the Whole Family! 🌲🍁
Pitch your tent, stoke the campfire, and get ready for a crisp autumn weekend filled with trail miles, lakeside views, and family fun at Sadlers Creek State Park. Whether you’re chasing a 100-mile buckle or strolling through your first 10k, the Sadlers Creek Stumble blends trail racing with the magic of fall camping.
Nestled on a quiet peninsula extending into Lake Hartwell, this hidden gem of a state park offers the perfect setting for a weekend escape. Wake up to cool morning air and the smell of campfire coffee, cheer on runners from your hammock, and spend the evenings swapping race stories around the fire pit under a starry sky.
Choose Your Fall Trail Adventure:
🍂 100 Mile (32-Hour Limit) – 15 scenic loops through golden woods
🍂 Marathon – 4 loops of pine-needle-packed trails
🍂 Half Marathon – 2 loops of lakeside beauty
🍂 10k – A single lap perfect for newcomers or weekend warriors
This isn’t just a race—it’s a fall retreat:
🔥 Campfires crackling as runners come in from long loops
🍁 Crisp leaves crunching underfoot as you run through golden forests
☕ Hot post-run soup, pancakes, and campfire camaraderie
🏕️ Camp along the course for easy crewing or cozy mid-race rest
🌕 Night running with headlamps under a harvest moon
🎶 Music and a post-race hangout full of good vibes and great stories
🎖️ Belt buckles for 100-milers, race stickers, tattoos, and custom bibs
The course is looped and lightly rolling with 380 ft of gain per lap. Mostly trail (80%), with a sprinkle of gravel, pavement, and a dash of sand. You’ll pass tall pines, gentle lake breezes, and the occasional deer as you circle the peninsula. Each 6.7-mile loop gently winds through quiet woods, along lakeshore trails, and past cozy campsites—making it easy to check in with your crew, grab a snack, or sneak in a quick s’mores break. With just a few rolling hills and a wide, runnable surface, this course is approachable, scenic, and shaded in autumn’s finest colors.

This was a 6.55 mile loop inside of Sadlers Creek Park running alone side of Lake Hartwell. This was first Inaugural Year of the Sadlers Creek Stumble! The camp site was awesome, the trails were brutal, lots of hills and stomps, there were plenty of food and the bathrooms were alone side of the camping sites. Overall a fun race with a beautiful scenery of the lake.

Looks can be deceiving! The trails were beautiful but as you run them you realize how technical they really are. The aid station was great! Scenery was great! I love the handmade medal where I was able to put sand in the necklace (valve).
Race director Matthew was great!
